UPDATED REVIEW ON RUMSEY PARK 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 2, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

When I moved to Payson a few months ago, I was expecting the course to be in fairy poor condition. To my surprise, the city had mowed down the front section of the course and there were handpainted tee sign markings guiding me through the course. Some care has been taken recently to build it up and bring it back from the dead.

Cons:

At the moment, it is still difficult to navigate around the course without a local who can guide you through the different tee options. 6 of the 9 baskets are still the ancient mach 2s from buffalo

Other Thoughts:

I gotta say, now that I know the course and a few of the locals, I think Rumsey has some real potential and, could be resurrected as a spot for a tourney, from time to time.

it plays as a par 59, with 5 legit par 4s AND there's an 18 hole mini course, using the front 3 baskets!

Very much a pleasant surprise of a course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 13, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The only course in town, so at least there is somewhere to play. Even though only 3 baskets, never seems to play that way and feels like you are playing a normal 18. Very good mix of open and technical shots.

Cons:

Since it is only 3 baskets if there were a lot of people playing it would get dangerous and crowded. And since there are no tee pads, the dirt "tees" are not pleasant.

Other Thoughts:

If you are in the area, you have to play...it is almost worth the drive to go up and play a few rounds. You would never think a course with just 3 baskets could be so fun.
