Pros:
-Samui Disc Golf is a challenging technical 9 hole course with a good variety in shots.
-Narrow fairways call for accuracy in your approach-game (advanced players)
Aditionally the course has alternative pin-positions to offer.
-The course is also recommendable for families and beginners as the distances are rather short. Rounds wont take long as the layout is compact.
-Everything was maintained nicely.
Good tees, made out of grass paving blocks.
Teesigns give information about Par, lenght (in meter) and the different pin position.
The baskets appeared to be a bit worn, but were catching well. They just look a bit rusty.
-As the course is located in the northern part of Samui, not far away from the the main "ring-road" its quite easy to get there, even with public transportation.
-The owner Nigel runs a BBQ/Catering as well. Food and drinks are available onsite, as well as large selection of discs, apparel and other disc golf stuff.
-Now, the biggest Pro for me were definitely the locals. Nigel was very hospitable and the whole community was very companionable.
!!!Make sure to get to this place during league days and play doubles!!!
Cons:
-The crossing fairways were the biggest Con for me. The area is quite small, so its comprehensible, and i assume that it's usually not to crowded to become a big problem.
Pay attention when others are playing too.
-Advanced/Rec players will notice the lack of elevation and the mainly shorter holes.
-You can play this course with a mid/putter combo.
No wide open hole for distance drivers.
Other Thoughts:
Check the Facebook-Page for league days,so you have the chance to get in touch with the locals.
If you dont have a scooter/car, you can reach this course easily with public transportation
(Songthaew).
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is into Disc Golf and happens to be on Koh Samui or to anyone who wants to play our sport under palm trees.
