Reviewed: Played on:May 19, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nice mix of hole length ranging from about 200 to 325
-Good markings leading from hole to hole
-Woodchip teeboxes work prety well in the rain
-Signs marking every hole (though not allways the best)
-Nice mix of woods from wide open to poke and pray.
-Slight elevation change
-Challenging but still fun

Cons:

-First teebox is a little hard to find, it's neer the willow, in between the parking lot and the road that you come in on.
-Some signs need to be replaced
-Most holes are very straight ahead, not alot of doglegs
-No smoking or drinking (college campus) this may not be a con for some
-A bad throw on one hole could end up with your disc on the other side of a fence
-A chance for crossover or worse on holes 7 and 8
-Some holes are blind and require you to just throw with blind faith (if your heading straight it's probably a good bet)
-Baskets are not well marked
-Chance for confusion about which basket to shoot at on a couple holes

Other Thoughts:

A fun little 9 hole course in Redding, Simpson College, was prety fun and well put together for what land they had to work with. The bible themed hole names, starting on Genesis and ending on Exodus, leads me to belive that this is probably a Christian College. I was a little disapointed that they had such nice signs to say "no drinking, no smoking... etc." with such poor quality signs right above them, and no sign in the parking lot to tell you where to find the first tee. With a little more work and some improvements I think this course could end up being one of the funner and more challenging courses in Redding.
