Pros:
Provides a disc golf option local to Redding, CA with moderate difficulty.
Rolling terrain brings diversity to the landscape and the need for good depth perception on most holes.
Offers nice views of Mt. Shasta on several holes.
Family friendly course (i.e. no smoking or drinking allowed).
Fun for beginners to disc golf, but also offers some technical approach lanes for those developing more advanced skills.
Nice, new cages with clearly marked numbers on them.
NO BLACKBERRIES and minimal heavy rough areas!
Offers challenges for forehand and backhand throwers alike with multiple lanes of approach on most holes.
Restrooms are available at Simpson University, as well as two porto-lets between holes 2 and 3.

The signage is pretty good but missing placards near the tees of a few holes as well as next hole markers.
The cages are natural steel and can be hard to see.
It is currently only a 9 hole course. This may not be a con for some, but for those use to 18+ it can make it hard to get into a rhythm before wrapping up all 9.
When the rain season comes (do we have one in Redding?) the water hazards could eat a few discs and there are a few water crossings during the course as well so wear some waterproof shoes of boots.
Beware that you may get a citation from Simpson U security for parking without a permit unless you use the visitor parking spaces

Overall, I would recommend more players come check this course out. Hopefully, it is eventually expanded to 18 holes, but as of now it is a good options for people who have a family, want restrooms nearby, and live local to Redding, CA.
