Stoney Creek Park DGC 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 24, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Back to a playable 18 holes. A lot of time and effort has been put back into the park. Definitely into the back 8 holes. The front is open for distance and the back is much tighter and shorter for midrange and putters.

Cons:

Still a lot of work left. Signs are not up yet for the rearrange of holes. There is a decent walk from 17 basket to 18 tee. The long walk is due to a block of private property that we don't have access to.

Other Thoughts:

Definitely better than it was a few months ago. Like before a lot of work and effort has gone into course and still more to take place. Know there has been some awful reviews of the course. Rightfully so it got designed then abandoned. Anyone that reviewed or played it I ask that you give it another round and see what you think. Feel free to get up with someone in the Just Above Par DGC and let's play a round. Thanks for your time

First Run 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 18, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good mixture of holes ranging from open to moderately wooded, to heavily wooded. Very close proximity to the highway. Very easy to navigate.

Cons:

No bathrooms, was heavily flooded, No distance to basket markers, or signs for which tee belongs to which basket.

Other Thoughts:

Looks like the course is still getting some work done to it, i am not sure though as this was my first play through, could really use some distance to pin signs, as I choose my disc off of that fact. Other than this very well designed course.

Play when it hasn't rained recently. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 25, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

a nicely varied course. The front 9 are pretty open holes, and the back 9 are wooded (except 18). Very little elevation comes into play here, but there are plenty of different turns to negotiate. Multiple tees for different skill levels. Friendly people in the park. There's a dog park too.

Cons:

This park floods easily. When I went, the front 9 had some serious flooding. We didn't play holes 6, 7, or 17 because of the swampy condition of the fairways. The tees are simply cinder blocks on the ground. Some of them aren't marked; you just have to figure out which cinder blocks correspond to which basket. The long tee for hole 15 is outrageous. About 200-300 feet, then a 90-degree right turn, and another 200 feet or so.

Couldn't find the tee for 18. Maybe it was underwater.

No rest rooms.

The dog park requires an electronic code. Our dogs didn't know the code.

Other Thoughts:

The short tees are pretty easy. The longest tees are quite challenging. The wooded holes have some narrow lanes to get through. Pam lost a shoe in the swamp.

good coures 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 25, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

great open front 9.

Cons:

needs better markings, parks and rec planted tuns of trees on 17 and 18 that make most shots pretty much a no go but from the rumor mill they are going to remove some of them

Other Thoughts:

could be a great course with a little work
