-baskets are in decent condition
-many holes have tee signs, and some arrows pointing to the next tee
-has a mix of open/wooded holes
-good use of the terrain available at the park
-18 hole course that can easily be played in less than 1 hour

-navigation is difficult (even with signage), especially on the back 9. No accurate course map is available that I've been able to locate
-no concrete/rubber tee pads
-incomplete/inaccurate signage
-several of the wooded holes do not provide much of a line...the course could use some tree work to make some of the tee shots fairer
-high probability of losing discs in the rough on a few holes

Had an hour to kill while I was in Brockport this morning, so I played here for the first time in several years. I went back and read several of the most recent reviews before I played, and after playing it today I agree with the general opinion that this course could use some TLC. If there were distinct tee pads (concrete or rubber), signs on every hole, and an accurate course map, it would go a long way towards making it a more enjoyable course to play. Some tree removal and brush clearing would improve the experience even further, because I do think the existing layout has good potential. I wish I lived closer to this course, because I would certainly pitch in- plenty of potential, but lots of work ahead before it can be realized!

- Good mix of shots required (BH, FH, thumber, etc).
- Multiple pin positions on several holes.
- Fun island hole with a nice ring of stone / fencing.

- Hole 1. I am starting here as you are smacked with this when you start the course. I can deal with 15' wide winding fairways. I can deal with thick, nasty, thorn filled schule. I can deal with blind shots. Just don't put them together in 1 hole. This is a recipe for frustration and lost discs and is a horrible first impression to a course. To play this hole to par (4), you are forced to make at least 1 blind shot into a winding fairway ~15' wide with punishing nasty rough on both sides. Not many people can do this consistently (and if you could...the rest of the course wouldn't be much of a challenge) and most find themselves either bushwacking, playing super conservative NAGS to stay clean (and take a 6) or just skipping the hole. I normally wouldn't let 1 hole affect a review this much but it dropped a 1/2 star for me because it is just NOT FUN to play.
- Signage. Some holes are lacking signs and those that are there are weird. Instead of long/short distances you get this weird A/B(tee) X/Y (pin) matrix where A>B = 50', B>X = 200', X>Y = 30'. So if you are shooting A>Y it would be ~280 (assuming they are all in line which they are not. There are generally reasonable next tee signs where needed but a few more could be helpful.
- Tees. They are all natural (except 1 which has a way too small rubber mat) which i can deal with. The big problem is - where are they supposed to be? A few have small surveyors flags to mark them. A few are marked with stone piles. A few are completely unmarked (or i couldn't decipher the mark) but have a worn in spot from play. Then there were a few where I just had to completely guess. No discernible marking anywhere so i guess this looks good. Oh - and this is for the 'long' tees. Good luck finding the shorts....
- Hole 14 (may be incorrect as its from memory) someone has stacked logs and made a small circle ~15' behind the pin. This is a longer hole through the woods so there is a decent potential for a long upshot if short or offline on your drive. These logs catch overthrown upshots 15' from the pin and take away all of the risk on that upshot skipping/sliding past the pin for a long putt. Might as well run that basket as you'll end up with at worst a 15' putt.
- Not a huge factor but something to be aware of is in the spring the front 9 is very, very muddy. At a time where other courses were playable but wet the front 9 had deep sticky mud throughout. If playing in the spring you may want to consider playing only the back 9 (or wear good boots and bring an extra towel).

This is a course that I would love to like as it is one of the closer courses to me...but to be honest I'd rather drive the extra 20 minutes to play basil if I was after a game of tight, technical golf. There are some fun holes on the course. There are many tight & technical shots. There are a few super short ace runs. But the cons just make me drive past to one of the many better Rochester courses.

It was a decent wooded course. Some of the holes seemed inventive through the use of mandatories and basket placement. The park also has a nice restroom at the beginning/end of the course.

As stated before, Hole 1 is atrocious. There needs to be an amateur tee for that hole. Additionally, I feel that the tees needed to be more clearly marked, as it is difficult to determine where you are actually supposed to throw from. Sometimes a bit hairy in the woods.

Although the park is shared with many other activities, the disc golf course completely avoids potential problems with other park users.

Many interesting holes, mostly wooded. Forces broad range of shots on relatively short but challenging holes. Most of the wooded holes lack understory, easy to find wayward discs. Course generally well marked.

This course strikes me as a bit sadistic, at least for someone as un-accurate as me, left me questioning several posted pars. Many holes have tight fairways, some with considerable brush that gobble discs (#1 & 9 in particular). Poison ivy adundant in spots (various holes in back 9).

Leave the distance driver at home, sunglasses won't do much good either.

Look out for baseball spectators peeing in the woods.

The course is very easy to navigate, signs do well to lead you from one hole to the next. Like a well groomed nature trail through the woods. Nice snack bar at the practice basket.

The course was not complete yet when I played it. Baskets 1 and 9 were not there yet, and there were only plans for tee markers. I'm sure these temporary issues will soon be fixed, but as I tell my students, "I can't grade based on potential."
In addition: you need some math to figure out the distance of each hole from what is marked on the signs. The front nine is totally separated from the back nine. The small pond in the course is just for show and really doesn't come into play; it would be neat if it did.

This has the potential to be a good course, but when I played it was only passable. I'm sure it is progressing as I type this, but even so I cannot see it ever matching Chestnut Ridge as far as shorter woods courses around here go.
