Who are you catering to?

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 29, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Beautiful discatcher baskets
- lots of OB
- Every hole has a water hazard if that's your thing
- Short holes makes for a quick round

Cons:

- Unplayable when school is in session
- Difficult to navigate without Udisc
- Tee signs have been vandalized
- Short holes
- No elevation
- Lots of chances to lose discs in water or over fences

Other Thoughts:

There are two things that strike me here:

(1) Who are you building this course for? Students? Locals? Traveling disc golfers? Pros with insane accuracy? The holes are short and would be beginner friendly but the water hazards are on every hole and unavoidable aside from skipping the course. Not challenging enough for advanced players with accuracy and too punishing for beginning players with the possibility of multiple lost discs per round.

(2) Where is the course and how do you navigate it? Udisc helps but I assume all of the safari layouts on there are user made and not official. After hole 9 tee pads are hard to find and some baskets use multiple tee pads per basket and call it an extra hole. A weirdly laid out course.

I'm not really sure who would enjoy this course, the way it's laid out now just disappoints so much of the demographic that wants to play here. I would recommend driving less than 5 miles and you have Scera park and Rock Canyon, with each being very different from each other. Skip this place.

Unexpected 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 28, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nice baskets
-Well maintained course
-The 9 hole Safari map is great!

Cons:

-Signs are facing wrong direction on a few holes
-Likely difficult to play during school or baseball games when students are around
-Not much for elevation change
-No concrete tee pads
-Too challenging

Other Thoughts:

We showed up expecting an 18 hole beginner friendly course, but were met with the exact opposite.

Following the 9 hole safari map (the old map is no longer accurate) I would be very supersized if anyone is able to throw for par on this course without either landing a disc(s) in the water or hitting a building or going into the baseball field area. I love to see disc golf courses, but man, I honestly think this is a lousy place for a disc golf course. Even if I were an advanced player, I don't think I would want to return here due to the hazards.

We had gusty winds which made it even more challenging.

If you're at UVU and want to toss some discs, this is convenient, but otherwise I would probably suggest a different course in the area.
