Nice long holes, a few tough placements with the cliff behind the basket. the pro tee on hole #1, friendly encounters with the local wildlife. rarely crowded

Lack of trees on the front nine. The only other big issue is a personal one. I prefer courses that tend to leave you somewhat close to your car when you are done. This course offers you a long walk at the end of the day back across the park.

This course is long and exposed. It is a great course to practice long distance driving techniques as errant throws tend to land safely. The signs, baskets and tee pads are good quality. This course also tends to be less crowded than other nearby courses.

The scenery changes a bit, but the necessary shot types don't change much. Everything is mostly big drives and long putts without obstruction.
Hole number 14 can be a bit of problem as the dry landscape and right to left slope tend to funnel discs down into the creek. The bank is too steep to descend and the water is pretty murky and deep. Discs tend to be hard to see and hard to recover. The hundreds of prairie dogs can be a bit of nuisance, although they do not pose much of a threat unless your disc literally lands in one of their dozens of holes.

This is a great course to play in the winter months. The weeds are gone and the fairways are exposed to the sun (which in Colorado usually means warmth). It also means your drives will skip and roll well on the many longer holes. However, be sure to bring plenty of water.
Also, be sure to enjoy the view from the number 16 tee pad. It might be the best peak to peak view of the mountains of any course along the front range.

Excellent concrete tee boxes. Double chain baskets in good condition. Highly visible tee signs with large numbers on the back side so you can tell what hole it is from a distance and the other direction. Some holes have pretty challenging pin placements (#14 and #17 come to mind easily). There are some water challenges (#9, #10, #14, #17) and some great change of elevation holes (#2, #5, #15, #16). The course doesn't particularly favor righties or lefties as most of the holes are pretty straight shots. Hole #1 has a Pro tee over the lake and an Am tee that plays around the lake.

Starting and finishing holes are not near each other so you'll be walking either to get to the first hole or after you're done to get back to your car. Some of the water is pretty nasty looking and doesn't inspire you to try and retrieve any lost discs.

#18 is a blind RHBH anhyzer shot that has potential conflicts with players in the fairway of #12 throwing in the opposite direction.

As length is the name of the game here there isn't a whole lot of shot variety.

This is a fairly large park with lots of open spaces that makes for a wonderful disc golf course location. Lots of prarie dogs make their homes on the first half of this course. The terrain is mostly dry and dusty with not much grass.

Almost every hole on this course will challenge players to throw as far as they can off the tee... and I loved it! If you've got a big arm or enjoy seeing a disc fly a long way this is a fun course to play. If I was a local I could see how this course might get boring after a while with the lack of finesse shots and variety.

If you park in the lot by the #12 tee it's a bit of a walk to the first hole but you have the advantage of stopping to restock discs, water, etc. from your car about half way through your round, and hole #18 finishes right there as well.

This course is a very open course that for the first 11 holes you really don't have to worry about hazards or anything too hard. The back 7 holes is where this course comes alive and it gets really interesting. Many holes play around the creek that runs through the course.

At times the weeds can be a pain if you wear shorts and there are lots of prairie dog holes to dodge. If you have never played this course, get a map or someone who knows where the next hole is, it can be hard to find at times.

Depending on the time of year that you go, the creek that runs through the course can make things hard if you throw your disc in the water. Sometimes there is very little water in the creek and you can almost walk through it to get your disc back and other times there can be running rapids and you might as well count that disc as a loss and move on.

This course is wide open and you have a lot of long shots to improve your drives. There are not too many players to make it crowded. The back 9 will force more accurate long drives. There are some fun holes to watch your disc just glide down the hill. Good course for big arms.

Bring a course map if you plan to play it all. The first 9 are easy to locate. There are not too many trees to shoot around so its just wide open shooting. There is a creek that runs by half of the holes. Thick trees and bushes near the bank make retreival tough.

Plan to walk a lot at this course. If you play in the summer the weeds can eat your discs if they get lost. Walking from hole 18 back to the parking lot close to the course beginning is a long walk. My advice is to park near hole 11/12 and walk down to hole 1 then you will be close to your car. After a hot afternoon there is nothing worse than having to drag yourself a mile back to your car after a grueling course.

This course is underrated in my opinion. While many of the holes on the front nine are very open the back nine has immense character. The course is in a separate area from the soccer and baseball fields, so you won't have to worry about throwing at people, except for the occasional trail that crosses the fairway. The first hole throws directly over a lake and the small trees on the far side of the lake make for an interesting hole. The next few holes are wide open, but give you a chance to practice those long drives. At number 7 it starts to get interesting when the creek and some trees come into play. Number 14 was my favorite hole, it throws down a hill to a basket surrounded on three sides by the creek. The signs at every tee-box make finding the holes easy. The unique prairie grass makes for an interesting course and multiple hole placements for every hole keep the experience changing.

The lack of trees makes some of the holes boring, but small trees have been planted on many of them. The steep walls on the sides of the creek and numerous wetlands make retrieving your disc from the water difficult. If you're opposed to walking in the weeds this course is not for you.

This course has a lot of space, it's not jammed into a tiny park next to basketball courts and skate parks. Worth the visit if you're in the area, especially if you just played Badlands.

This is one of those recreational type of parks with ball fields and a skate park, so you will be able to find a bathroom but you will not be able to bring a small child and have them play at the play ground. The park is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. The course follows a creek and circles a lake. There is a mix of park grass and badlands grass, however the badlands grass is not the type that you would want to mow because of it uniqueness. The tee pads are concrete and the signs give you a general direction to the basket. Number seven was my favorite because it has you throwing over two bends of a creek and a bike path in between trees. This course was fun for just letting it rip.

On the day I played it was just sparsely populated enough to not get any help with being pointed in the right direction. I badly needed a map because there are no signs after the basket. For the most part the course is just wide open and there is not much challenge variety. Keep an eye on those discs in the weeds, also wear socks. Make sure to look out for people on the bike path.

An easy to find course in the north Denver area. After the first time I played it I felt it wasn't anything special. However, the more I think about it, I think this is one of the better more complete courses I've played in Colorado.
