Worth the drive to visit Gnome land 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 4, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

drove an hour south to visit the land of Gnomes and enjoyed the trip down Rt 14 and over Rt 66. The course itself is located behind the pool near the River. 2 set of tees(blue/red) offered nice distance for beginner and intermediate players. I played the blue tees and longest distance was 310'(hole 6)
and ended with a fair score of +3(58 was course par).
lots of open lanes to throw a variety of shots with some guardians thrown in for some difficulty. baskets caught well and was a well kept course overall.

Cons:

holes 1 and 11 fairways kind of interconnect. hard to figure which one to throw to if there first time(basket 1 is a little to the left of 11)
Hole 12 was interesting. Blue tees were on one side of river and red tees were on other side. retrieving a disc short of 12 in the river can be a bit tricky due to the erosion on the river bank( 7-10' deep in some areas)
Maps were provided at tee 1 in a ziploc bag, but distances are listed for blue tees only.

Other Thoughts:

All in all this course is in a well used rec park. Good times for family with tennis courts, ball fields, a pool, and a small(real small) bmx looking dirt area with small berms and bowls for kids to ride in.

The course is perfect for beginners and intermediate players to work on technical shots(worked on my forehand today here), but not need the speed 10-14 drivers to reach the pin.
Holes 17(par 3 295') and 18(par 3 265') were perfect closing holes. 17 runs along the river and pin is somewhat guarded . 18 runs along the bank back to the parking lot and is a grip and rip open fairway.
I will probably make this a yearly stop

Play with the Gnomes 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 25, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Course has character
Most of the shots are fair. Tight, but fair.
Baskets catch well, in good shape.
Tee pads in good shape, even being dirt.
Greens play fair.
Lots of tight little fun shots to sharpen your mid and short game.
Cool water shot over the river
Really nice setting for a short course.
Benches on most holes.
Trash cans at start/end of course.
Gnomes

Cons:

A few unfair, grown in, tight lines, but not going to ruin your round.
If you do end up in the river, you can probably still get your disc back, but the walk down and back around is a bit tough.
It's a short course, not going to test many arms here.

Other Thoughts:

Super fun short layout. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. Scoring opportunities are abundant, but if you miss, you are scrambling to save par and not make a four. The Gnomes are all around you watching your every move. So behave, throw well, and keep your eyes peeled for these little guys around the course!

Great Backyard Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 22, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Lots of fun. There are a lot of opportunities for different types of shots. There are gnomes to be seen if you look carefully.

Cons:

Currently the bridge is down thanks to Hurricane Irene. To play a full 18 holes, you must drive around. This is not as big a deal as it seems however.

Other Thoughts:

This is the course I started playing on. It is a 2 minute walk from my front door. Needless to say, I get a lot of playing done at this course.

One of the best in VT 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 4, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course is great, the shots are all very technical, kinda short, but that alright. Hole 13 is a great over the river shot, and 18 is probibly one of the hardest shots on the course. all in all this course is awesome

Cons:

i don't have many cons for the course, its small so its easy to play up on someone if its busy, and the holes do cross a bunch.

Other Thoughts:

This is one of my favorite courses to play, i did lose 3 or 4 discs but i also found a few too so its all good.

I'll play again and again! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 16, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

-I'll play in the woods all day.
-It's a short but fun course.
-My wife and kids have plenty to do with the playground, pool or river right there.
-I love the over the river tee on the 13th but not the 18th.
-We saw the old maintenance guy walking through trimming things back in the woods section.

Cons:

What's with the 18th tee? It was way overgrown and I didn't feel like losing my disc. Any toss from there would have been a blind hail-mary over the river and through the woods. I love the over the river idea but how bout tightening up on the 18th.

Other Thoughts:

AN UPDATE TO MY CON SECTION:
after posting the above cons I saw the winter photo of the 18th and would love a shot at that, however come July bring your machete!
