Pros:
This course has a good mix of open and moderately wooded holes. There is a good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes as well. The grass on holes 2-5 & 8 was nice and green(plush).
The flow here is logical and the signage was adequate.
The grounds were well maintained.
There is a pool nearby for those hot summer days and there were various picnic tables, benches etc throughout the park.
Nice challenging lines on several holes to improve your shot shaping abilities.
Hole observations:
1-elevated tee and is a long and open hole, long throwers delight
2-5 have trees to navigate and good lines to be shaped, these are fun holes IMO
6 & 7-are open holes and have decent length, 400ft+
8-has nice trees to shape lines and is moderate in length
9-is a low ceiling shot and the basket isn't visible from the tee. It plays downhill a bit.
Cons:
The walk from 9's basket to the parking lot was a tad lengthy.
There wasn't any obstacles on holes 6 and 7. These were just plain open holes and a tad boring IMO.
Wind will be a factor on holes 1, 6, and 7 for sure.
Some holes play next to streets and roads thru the park. Also there is a walking trail/bike path that runs throughout the course so be advised. Safety first.
Other Thoughts:
This is a well balanced course and will give you a different look on several holes. Holes 2-5, 8 and 9 will help improve your fairway/approach game. Holes 1, 6, and 7 will let you work on your wind game and distance driving skills.
If you like grip and rip holes 1, 6, and 7 will be up your alley.
If you prefer a more technical or park style holes then 2-5 & 8 will tickle your fancy. If you like both then you will really like this course. Its a solid play especially considering the next closest courses are in Pueblo, Trinidad, or Syracuse, KS.
If you are passing through and want to get in a relatively quick round on a good course then hit this course up. I think you will be surprised.
