My training grounds 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 23, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great mix of wooded and open holes. Lots of long holes that allow you to let your high speed drivers fly. Very clean park. Great course to bring a dog. I've highly recommend this course to all players.

Cons:

Holes 2 & 3 play next to the park's central playground and shelter. At times this area gets flooded with kids. I wish the course weren't so close to this area. I would also say that a lot of the recent changes to the park have catered to 'walkers' and not golfers.

Other Thoughts:

This course has been my training grounds for the past 6 years and has a lot of sentimental meaning for me. I really enjoy playing the Cha-Ching & Zing every year.

Play there A-LOT! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 14, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

COURSE DESIGN: The course layout is excellent. There is a variety of mixed holes - short/long/wooded/ & open. The course is beautiful - mature trees with awesome skyline.

TERRAIN: There is a good mix of slight elevation changes throughout the course. Holes 1, 4 & 17 are slight downhill shots (17 = most extreme). Holes 5, 10, 12, 13 & 16 are slight uphill drives (10 = most extreme).

Holes 2, 3, 6, 7, 8*, 9*, 11, 14*, 15 & 18 are pretty much flat. *Holes 8, 9 & 14 have slight downward declines in elevation ~50 - 125ft. before basket.

The grounds are well maintained by the City, grass well cut in summer, trail well kept.
CHALLENGING: The course is actually quite difficult on some holes. There are a lot of challenging holes where the creek, brush & trees come in to play. (1,2,6,8,10,17,18)

I find holes 1, 5, 8, 10, 11, 17 & 18 to be the most challenging & rewarding once you make it past the trees on your drive, in the fairway & able to receive a nice putt or upshot.

Cons:

Watch out for people on walking trail

Other Thoughts:

Seems like Zebulon is off to a good start for 2010! New tee signs, fairways cleared, scorecards, website looks great, bridge on 18 replaced, monthlies are being held, overall excellent game on!

Holes for a good backhand: 2, 3, *4, 5, *6, *7, 8, *9, 10, 12, 13, 14, *15, *16, 17.

Holes for a good forehand: *1, *3, *4, *5, *6, *7, *9, 11, *15, *16, 18.

* = can go either way.

Straight holes (pretty much) = 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 15.

The zeb 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 4, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Awesome course. This course has it all. Good layout and tee boxes. Well kept. They just recently added signs for each hole....makes this course that much better!

Cons:

Tough navigating your way around the first time. Hole 3 is kind of tough to find as well as hole 17.

Other Thoughts:

One of the tougher courses that I have played. Very well worth the drive wherever you are coming from. Be prepared to be challenged though!
