water hole pictures?

This is #4 at Bear Branch in The Woodlands, TX

I cleared #16 pretty easily. But the low ceiling on #8 caught my Sidewinder drive knocked it into the creek. I got wet up to my thighs but I got it back. (Eight new Dallas courses so far and no lost soldiers yet!)

You're a braver man than I - lost my Boss at hole #2 and there was no way I was going in that creek - probably not be able to scale back out! I did fetch my disc out at Alex Clark though later that morning.

Jordan Creek has some great shots near water. Hole 8 is insane (See t i m's post). I was so proud of myself for not only clearing the water on that hole but actually parking a good shot (I cant throw far as it is :p )

Yeah, hole 18 there should also be listed as one of the great water holes anywhere. The hole tees off a small cliff straight over a wide creek... you have to throw a forehand or a anhyzer to land in a safe spot for your 2nd throw. First throw is probably limited to about 200' of distance and is all about placement. Easy to land in the water if you're a little off, but its a clear stream so that's no big deal. Approach shot to the basket is over 300' and over a 2nd wide creek that guards the basket. Basket is probably 50' on the other side of the creek, so this is a real placement shot to get down the tree-lined alley, across the 2nd creek, and park the basket for a possible three. This is one of the few holes I can think of anywhere that requires you to go twice over water in the same hole, and there is no way to try to clear them both at once. It's an incredibly well-designed hole and a great challenge. There are no good pictures of this hole, but the course map does give you some idea what I'm talking about. Amazing course. Easily in my top 10 most fun courses to play. (Not the best tournament course, but most fun to play for casual rounds).

Although I haven't played it yet, Beaver Meadows #1 & #18 look pretty cool.

Cameron Park East in Waco, TX also looks pretty sick

Unfortuntely no good pics - but Towne Lake in Dallas has an impressive creek that runs the course and #16 pro tee play a pretty interesting shot over a pond - Played it at sunrise - probably made it cooler for me.

Beaver Meadows is a must for me this summer. Some of those holes look crazy. I am looking forward. If you are up in CO drop me a line and can play.

I'll be up there at the end of June. Planning on hitting Conifer, Beaver Meadows, Phantom Falls, and Sundance Trail Ranch. Any other in those areas that are a must?

i have parked that hole twice in events and i have thrown in the water probably three times that many times. mike bonday aced it in my group 2 years ago at wvo.

Blank Slate?? Island greens, baby!!!!

Hole #16 on highbridge gold is one good example of this (i think technically its a peninisula due to a thin strip that goes out to the island with culvert underneath (check course walkthrough and map)

And true island hole, (this one in the middle of a river) #4 on mouer Park in Tempe, AZ

In the second picture, the pin is to the left, obscured by big pineapple tree thing in foreground, guarded by that gnarled tree on riverbank.

Friggin' jinxed myself... :( Up to nine new Dallas courses, but had to leave a man behind tonight for lack of time.

Yellow ESP Surge in the creek of #17 at Paschall Park.

who says pro par is always a 3?...that is just somone's opinion that hasnt seen a long course or hole..once again par is nothing that matters...you shot 57 ...who cares if it is 3 over or 8 under?

Once again 80 cuts through the chaff. It is what it is. You are playing against yourself and the course each time you go out. If you finish one day and you shot a so-called pro par of 3 a hole, then celebrate. Until then each of us is just trying to get better.

I had mentioned this hole previously and posted a couple pictures. Here's the youtube link to the WV Open final round that included this hole. Hole #18 is about 2:30 into the video. Check it out.

My favorite route there is a low, skipping overstable forehand that skips off the water for the park-job. If you throw at the right angle, water skips like concrete, without hurting the disc. And any shots skipping off water for the deuce run are highlight-reel material. :)

Hole number 5 at Winnebago County Park in Oshkosh, WI.
The picture on here is not the best. The water is one the left right behind the bushes. The basket is around the lake so you cant throught it right at the basket.

Thats funny because I actually played the a few weeks ago, and without realizing it I threw from the concrete pad that forces about 200' carry over the water. I promptly threw in a Destroyer and also the first disc I ever bought (albeit 4 months old) a Valkyrie. Then I get up around the corner and I see the real tee!!!!!!!! Well I was able to get the Destroyer out but the Valkyrie is still out there.

I, too, love water holes, unless Im losing my disc in them. Here's another good one, in Fountain Hills, AZ, where the whole course wraps around a giant manmade lake.

Our water holes are not something you'd want a picture of... so to speak.

They are low lying areas or drainage. Some are okay aesthetically... a small winding partially dry creek bed

(bayou bed?)

We do have one water hazard on hole 4 at PA DAVIS but I would be embarassed to show you a photo of that due to all the litter. I am talking truck loads. Horrid. Thing is the water hazard is not visible from the tbox or fairway... it is to the right of the fairway, down an embankment.

There IS a litter free nice looking bayou with a pro tee waiting to occur on the Duzee course. Can't wait. That would be photo worthy. Not too many folks seem to want a real water hazard here, however. Pas bon. Skeerdy cats. I could be mistaken. Maybe they want one.
