Is this poison ivy

sure looks it! you could always wipe it on your arm and see in a couple hours.... JK

poison ivy typically has a vine with a reddish tint to it as well as "hairs" on the main vine!

Well I took this picture in my back yard. Saturday, I was clearing some brush, cutting down some brushes and didn't think much of it. Monday, my arms, shins and behind the knees started itching. If I got poison ivy, I would describe it as a mild case but still, I'd like to know since my kids play back there from time to time.

It looks close. Here is a pic of real posion ivy

I found some pictures on the net and one in particular looks REAL close. I know my picture isn't great but I figured this would be a pretty good place to ask since I'm sure these folks have encountered the stuff on the course. Thanks.

Yes poison ivy has the red where the leaves come off the stem.

Yup, that's PI.

FYI: some people are not affected by it.....YET. Just like bee stings, sensitivity to PI can, and almost always will, develop over time and repeated exposure.

Look for 3 notched leaves with red stem. I get poison ivy pretty bad so I try to keep an eye out for it.

I am a horticulturist and I agree to the Poison Oak. Oak have leaves that look like that.

I am almost 100% positive that is not poison ivy, that is an oak like leaf, but I have also gotten poison ivy 5 times in my life so maybe I cant identify it very well.

I do remember learning . . . leaves of three!!!

Yeah that is probably poison ivy. Fortunately I'm one of the 15-30% that is pretty much immune to it.

Are there really that many of us that don't react to it? 30% is much higher than I expected.

Poison oak's leaves are never pointed and non-lobed like that. If it's one of the Toxicodendron species, it's poison ivy.

Wow I am embarrassed after further research ont he web I think it is Poison Ivy. It has an oak like leaf in the venation.

Good thing I went to school for 5 1/2 years!

Like I said, the rash and itching I have would be described as very mild if this is indeed poision whatever. On a side note, I am 33 and have never had poison whatever and considering the time I've spent outside in the woods, maybe I'm just not that allergic to it. I would think that I must have come in contact with it over the years.
