Raining and 51 degrees, I won't play in this, does anybody?

I do, its why gear purchases have more important to me then disc purchases.
Shoes for any weather, waterproof pants, shell, and multiple layers that are intended to go layer (rag sleave).

:p
Really? Except for the attack kitty in the sig, you look just like him

I don't care about 51°, just don't enjoy playing in the rain.

If you have a good time despite the weather, then good for you, but if you aren't having fun, then why bother?

Some of the worst I've played in was:

1) 40 degrees, 40mph winds with freezing rain.
2) 20 degrees, freezing rain that left an inch of ice on the baskets as well as my bag (I had to keep breaking it off my shoulders and hat).
3) 120 degrees.....in the shade!
4) Hail and lightning.
5) Tornado.

After that, 50 degrees and rain is a cake walk!

I don't like the cold and wet combo in any outdoor activity. I'd do it though. Just to not be a sissy.

Well, the rain stopped. The temp doesn't bother me. I ended up playing a round with a good friend who's been hurt and hasn't played in 3 months and a new guy who has never thrown a round. Casual round, but still better than sittin around watching the NFL.

51 and rain is nothing (although it does kinda suck) its still a lot more fun then sitting around at home or whatever

I live in Seattle; there are only 3 months out of the year that aren't rainy and 45F.

^ Yep... from late Oct. to mid May or later sometimes 51 degrees would be a bonus. Doesn't get real cold or snow much so we're able to play rear-round out here without too much hardship. Many courses have a good overhead canopy that works as a deterrent to the rain. I'll bag it if it's coming down in buckets, though.

I'll play as long as it's not dangerous to do so. Tornadoes, hail, lightening... these are round killers. Playing in a light rain is fun.

I can handle the rain, and the cold...honestly its the damn wind that drives me crazy.

So yes, I've done the worst of the worst it seems.

I hate snow.

I've been more and more fond of playing in the wind, snow is great, bring it on. I guess the moral of the story is I can continue to play consistent despite conditions, my opponents falter. The day playing in the rain at am nats put me on the 3rd card, the milder conditions for the remaining rounds dropped me down to the middle of the pack.

I play disc golf to have fun and enjoy the outdoors. When it is cold or wet, I do not find it enjoyable and I don't have fun. My cut off for cold is 50 degrees (born and raised in Houston). I generally won't start a round in rain. If it is light rain during a round and looks like it will pass, I will finish the round. On the other end, I will usually play a round regardless of how hot it is.

^ Same here, I can handle the heat all day, but if my hands are frozen and feel like my fingers are gonna snap off...I usually call it a day...

Need to invest in a box of hand warmers :hfive:

Me and rain don't mix.
I have played in rain before and my normally sucky game goes to really, really sucky.
I can't grip a wet disc worth a darn.
I don't mind the rain so much, it's the wet discs that I have a problem with...
