A lot of people have aces here, but how many of you have a legit three under par? I am not talking about a 250 ft par 5... more like 600+ ft where you sunk your approach shot.

Interestingly in bolf, there were 631 aces on the PGA Tour but just 56 double-eagles between 1983 to 2003. I wonder what the stats are like for DG.

I have only heard of one in a tournament I played on the 770 ft hole 9 at Deer Lakes.

Someone had a two a few years ago on #12 at Winthrop Gold, one of several par 5s on the course but certainly the easiest to eagle. Not too shabby, even if you figure every hole is a par 3.

False. Some holes are legit par 4's, 5's, or even 6's, and are played as such. Rare? Yes. But do they happen? Yes, more than you might think.

How is it false? Did you play in the tournaments I played in?
I'm pretty sure I remember the pars on the holes I played.

You didn't say the tourneys you personally competed in. It's perfectly possible that the tourneys you've played in didn't have anything higher than a par 3. You said tourneys in general, which I disagreed with.

I guess if no one has seen a double eagle they're just going to debate on what par is....again

Daniel Strandberg got an albatross on the par 6 hole 1 of the course that hosts the Scandanavian Open, don't remember what is called. He reportedly hit a 300-something foot approach with a River, and Lat64 made a run of Rivers with a special stamp because of it.

Obviously I have no idea what par is in a tournament I didn't play in :D
But yeah there's plenty of par 4's and 5's but for some reason they're always played as 3's around here.
I suppose at the end of the day it doesn't really matter

If I recall it was a 1200' hole and he hit it from 320'

There's a couple courses in the DFW that the course par is 60+...so it's obviously possible for legit par 5's, whether you play everything as par 3 or not. Either way, your score will be the same in the end.

Course par and Tournament par do not change. Post what course it was and he can see a 1000 foot par 3, either that or someone on your card lied to you.

Played with a kid warming for last years event that chained out on his second drive from about 450' out on that hole. So I could easily see that hole being 2'ed.

Deerfield park has.. I think three or four par fours that are always played as threes in tournaments. Shore acres has a couple par fours (pins in the long) that are always played as threes.

At a tournament you do not keep score by par, you write the actual number. At the end I doubt the TD says that someone shot par if they shot a 54 on a course with a 60+ Par.

Lol I know how score is kept. And if you shoot 54 at Deerfield or shore acres guess what? They say you shot even par.
But you obviously have played more tournaments there than I have..
