[Innova] Whats Next For Blizzards?

Watch Mike C's videos.

Let me clarify before I get jumped, lol.

I have never seen anyone throw a MVP disc. I have only seen 1 Lat 64.

I do not have any opinion for or against these discs, nothing to base any judgement on.

I would say that is my own fault for living in the sticks, but I have been from Wisconsin to Louisiana, Florida, Virginia, as well as at home, and am yet to see a MVP disc thrown.

I see. I've only ever personally seen two people throw anything MVP, although I haven't gotten over to Clearwater.

I strongly disagree with the 'Blizzard is mostly marketing talk.'. All new products have an element of this but I would suspect that sentiment is coming from those who have just not thrown the things hard enough.

My 155 Blz Boss and Destroyer need to be thrown hard and clean to fly true but when they are thrown up to speed you notice they fly differently. Not like a 155 Valk, and not like like a max weight fast driver.

I notice and everyone who see's them come out of the hand notices. The speed and rate of deacceleration look different, they get blown around in the wind more, and then surprise the hell out of you when they get stable and although they seem to have lost a lot of speed relatively, but then you look and they are still moving forward significantly. It's a weird trip for the eyes and is clearly different then the flight of other discs I have seen. I have thrown light plastic for D in tailwinds for years, and one of my main putters is a 146 Aero. These blizzard discs are a new thing.

Lat is starting to get used more here in Upstate NY. I've been seeing Ions around for about a year now.

When it comes to the smaller, niche disc companies...there are two types of customers. Ones that preach the product from the rooftops, and ones that horde the secret because they think it makes them special. I've only ever encountered MVP users that are more than happy to let others try the Ion. I will say I've never seen an MVP mid-range out on a course. And the only Lat discs I've seen are Cores, Fuses, and Havocs.

When I kept reading on this forum about the River (Lat 64), I must have asked 10 times "Where can I buy one?", and no one ever answered.

I guess there is no where for me to buy one, I either order it online and take people's word at what it will do, or I wait until I actually see one to buy.

Only people I've seen playing with MVP are the people I sold them to. I converted 2 friend's to the ion side

You can find them at the big brick and mortar stores. But being Swedish, they're hard to find just on shelves over here. Basically, yes, you have to order one online and give it a try. On the plus side, if you don't like it, it would sell within minutes on the marketplace.

Ditto that.

I'm pretty sure that he could work an Aviar or a Wizard as well.

Mean skateboarder too.

As mentioned, and in my opinion, the Blizzards fly a little different. I've been using light drivers for sometime, the Boss and Wraith are my only light duo plastic comparison, I own and operate both in the bag.

I wish no ill will to any disc golf company or forum user here.

No time for that.

I do hope Glong will enlighten me a little more on his understable upwind light driver technique.

So what kind of gains are you mvp lovers getting?
....And i dont mean mumbo jumbo words, i mean distance vs a wizard.

If you're already throwing 150 class discs, you're probably not going to see a huge difference. Isn't the big improvement of blizzard for you all that you now get to use more durable discs (and maybe a small increase in stability that comes with that)?

The huge improvements are coming for people who should have been throwing 150s but have been throwing max weight instead.

Personally, the small increase in distance that I saw (~15' but not repeatable) isn't even close to being worth the loss of familiarity and performance in heavy wind. Other's experiences will obviously vary.

Now, if they use the technology to make new molds that are only legal in blizzard (think wide rimmed + large diameter) that would be real innovation in my eyes.

They're gonna say distance is not a prerequisite of a good disc while saying gyro adds glide?... In other words none. Whats good for my disc is not for yours.

We get it, you don't believe MVP does anything except make gimmicky discs.

This is a thread about Blizzard.. yet all of you that think Blizzard/MVP are gimmicky are just flat out trolling threads and creating incredibly off topic posts. Congrats on your close mindedness, I'm sure it's comforting..

if you go to the flymart at bowling green in a few weeks you will be able to touch and feel all the lat 64 you want, last year sun king had a bunch at thier booth and i doubt it will be any different this year...

While I do agree that it is a little ot I think its important because were discussing new ideas and innovations. I think its absurd that people are saying blizzard does nothing, I've witnessed many a throw with them where people flat out saw distance increases plus a high rated player up here in mi who I won't name regularly reaches 500ft and beyond who i play with sees gains with blizzard and for the most part:) destroyers and bosses hold up to the power. I also appreciate the added grip on certain molds/ color. The stuff works.

However, I don't like seeing mvp products lumped into the same class as blizzard, people are not seeing the dramatic results and tbh nobody has shown that gyro actually does anything. I am not saying the molds are bad, nor the company. As I've asked before has anyone weighed the rim compared to an equal mold? I'd like to see them try to mold an ion with just the exterior plastic if that at all possible or a mid with just the interior so they escape the stigma of being gimmicky.

I think with a lot of new tech coming out people are going to compare company's direction to others and with innovas blizzard its so in your face obvious that it does what it advertises people can't help but criticize others. I think blizzard will be copied by other manufacturers because wrong or right the sport is grown on distance. He who makes the most distance sells the most plastic.
