[Innova] Eagle Enthusiasm

I've acquired a few newer champ eagles (embossed). They fly fine but they all have quite the dome. Not a round dome, but a high angular rise from the shoulder that eventually levels off. My two money eagles in the bag are both PFN and nice and flat. Are newer flat eagles out there in the wild? Or am I chasing the dragon here?

The new Champ Eagles I have seen in stores are like that, though I have seen some F2s that are flatter.

I grabbed two champ glow eagles from a recent tourney payout and they are domey af. They fly fine but I hate the grip I get. I've got a flat champ eagle that is money. Haven't seen one that flat in a couple years though

So I've had three eagles, help me understand what to expect.
First was champ that was quite over stable and I eventually beat it in to a straightish disc but still quite stable.
After losing it I bought a star eagle thinking it would be a bit less stable than the champ. Boy was I wrong, it was amongst the most stable discs I've ever had.
Finally I bought another champ eagle to fill a stable fairway slot, and it flies very neutral (still nice fade though), less stable than any of three before it.

I'm trying to reduce the number of molds I throw and I like the idea of having eagles in various stages of wear to fill the stable to neutral slot, but the variance in the three I've bought is huge.

Is this normal? Also is star typically the most stable for this mold? I've found it to be a bit less stable than champ most of the time.

Star eagles that start out super beefy are money. I'd keep throwing that star, it'll beat in to the perfect workable eagle place that eagles go, and they for a long time

Just started playing disc golf again and saw this thread. Thought I would post a pic of my 2 Eagles...

If you're not averse to throwing baseline plastics DX Eagles fly pretty straight if you play around with release angles.

My champion sounds a lot like the last one you described and my Star was really overstable like yours as well

I finally got around to throwing the color glow champ Eagle X (2021 tourney stamp, zipper top). I did a little work on the flashing, but otherwise brand new.

It's pretty stable/OS. Not too noticeably different from the 2019 champ glow I bag. Flies straight for a while but very firm fade.

Maybe a little flip when thrown level with 300' of power. Not even -0.5 of high speed turn. I would trust it into a fairly brisk headwind. (That's at 3300 feet of elevation.)

Sounds similar to the 2017 Champ Color Glows.

Anyone tested the new stock run yet? Would be nice to hear about the feel, profile and flight.

Just a few posts above this

Gotcha, appreciate the input. I am not averse to throwing DX at all, just curious if my experience with star and champion were consistent with what others had seen.

I might just have a range of eagles in different plastics to cover all fairway needs.
