Docsmock, I know exactly how you feel. Below is the latest review of Idlewild, which makes no sense to me. She(I think its a girl) likes it but doesn't like it. I can live with the 3.5 rating but give us something that we can improve on or fix or keep it in the fairway. Her rating only dropped it down .1 of a point but it takes about 10, 5 disc rating to move it back to 4.79. Just saying.

Pros: I really like this course, but it is not always very well maintained. They're adding new holes for example, but when I was there the new holes had not been bushwhacked I suppose. and BUSHwhacked not mowed. This course is just a bit too wild for me in some places. The 1001 foot hole is amazing, for example, but sometimes the grass on the outside is as tall as you are. I know you aren't suppose to end up over there, but we all know it happens.
That being said, this course is not worth all the hype to me, there are better courses in the area (simply because someone cares for them more) but if you are in the area this is a beast you should look into.
There was a tournament there recently, so it is probably in decent shape around June 2012, but probably only temporarily.
The new holes include a lot more water, which I think was really missing from this course previously.
Cons: Hardly ever well maintained in some places, but immaculate in others. The new additional holes and some other holes have rough that is definately that.
Other Thoughts: Very nice area that this park is in, there's a dog park nearby also.
In my opinion, Idlewild is one of the cleanest and best maintained courses in the country. Boone County parks does a great job and we do our best to keep it litter/debris free.
I contacted her and got an even more confusing response. I'm pretty sure she's local too.
The review system is based on EVERYONE's opinions not just the ones that fit popular opinion.
There is a way to get "bad" reviews removed, as I had one of mine removed for Camden Park II in Milan, Illinois.
I played it when it was just put it and it was exteremely rough going through thick woods and wasn't cleared out fully as it was a brand new course. I gave it 1/5 because you needed a spotter on every throw, let alone every hole, and it was very difficult to navigate each hole, let alone the whole course! It was so bad my friends and I couldn't even play the full 18! We all agreed it was the worse course we had ever played, although we agreed that once it was broken it a bit more we would give it another shot.
I had several of my reviews removed, high and low ratings, because they did not fit the trend. The low review I gave was of a stupid tight wooded course which has high marks from the course designers and their buddies. And its funny because you can see some of the same guys slamming other courses for being tight and wooded, but not this one. It just goes to show you there's alot of dishonesty out there, and when someone has an opposing opinion its assumed someone has a personal issue or something.

From your post history it looks like it's your course you don't like the review on. It hurts when someone doesn't like something you put time and effort into it, but to get better you have to take the criticism as input and try to grow and improve from it. Posting this as you did seems a little disingenuous.
I get smashed on for my sunset park review and I stand by it. I hated that course and almost everything about it, I was definitely in the minority though as most folks like this course. I'm not on here to get a little review badge I am on here because I love disc golf, so at the end of the day just report the reviews that don't fit the acceptable criteria and let Timg sort it out.
Am I the only one who can see the little red thumb and 'send PM' features? Those seem like a heck of a lot easier solutions to this than all of this drama.
While I hate it when people use the review feature as an outlet for their personal problems, I hate it even more when somebody calls one of those people out in the forums because it was a course they liked. Let these folks get their unhelpful votes the natural way, just like the 3000ish or so other bad reviewers get them.
I can guarantee it's just because you stirred up regional rivalries with your "Sorry to piss off all the natives with my review but this course just can't stack up with anything like in the bay area.". If you hadn't said that it wouldn't have got so much crap. Gotta remember that most of the folks that read your reviews will be locals. It's too bad cuz it was a decent review with valid points.
The thought of silencing views that we disagree with concerns me.
