[Innova] DESTROYER destroyers unite!!

Man destroyers go far... over threw a 425' hole twice on Sunday. Both drives went past the basket by 25-35 ft and into the stream behind it.. fortunately both shots were recovered. I have a feeling ill be hitting 500' soon.

I've got some Star Destroyers at the house and was curious if I should either pick up a DX or a Pro to be my Turnover Destroyer.

I use to throw these for a bit,but got into the Terns and was killing it with them so I just pretty much quit throwing them.

I want to get back to throwing them again. So I guess you could say my Destroyers is just like a side throwing project so I can get them worn in just a bit more.

I never really got them to the point of being worn in,just a little worn is all. I heard Destroyers are great once worn in pretty good.

I just use a lighter weight star. Didn't take much use to be able to flip it.

I prefer pop top star destroyers. I have an ESDS that is probably the best hyzer flip distance driver ive ever thrown. I carry 3 other stars with it.

DUDE, get an echo star destroyer. They are the best for hyzer flips. They start out very overstable but beat in pretty quickly and stay the same after you beat them in.

Idk if you could say Star are the best, each of the five plastics they are available in provide something different. The only Destroyers I would say I haven't liked are the really domey ones, regardless of plastic. The DX have a strange shape to them that seems somewhat domey, but I don't think there is any avoiding that. The DX I have thrown are still very nice discs though. They will flip the easiest of all the Destroyers but they also have a ton of glide.

Star, Champ, and DX are my favorites.

Nice man. I've always been curious about the Echo Star.

Next time I'm out I'll see what the Local Shop has in stock.

:D

Just changed my signature.Instead of Tern it shows Destroyer now. :hfive:

The ones I own at the moment are 3 170 AJ Destroyers and a Freak of Nature 168 Champion Blizzard Destroyer that is incredibly long. It was the furthest flying disc for me before I got a hold of the Terns.

I'm actually kind of excited about going back to them. Gives me something kind of new to work with.

Alright, gents. Time to add another person to the fan club. After some form tweaking, these were regularly landing in the 410-450 zone tonight. I was throwing it against my dd2 and it was no contest. The two I bought today are pink 2009 avery jenkins and 171-172, they don't have much dome at all. one is almost flat. I was worried they were *gasp* Vulcan topped, but I don't think they are. I am concerned, however, about how they will act once broken in, and about being able to find others like this...

I don't know if they will stay in the bag given how ridiculously inconsistent the mold seems to be, and I am considering trying to cycle p-pd2's instead, but for now these are cash money. Feels controlled, goes far. :) a little turn, a little fade. Dead straight.

they sound like the destroyers i like... if you dont like em let me know lol

Ive been using a Star Tern for understable Destroyer shots, a flatter *ds for slightly left tracking (lhbh )with fade max distance shots, and a patent number aj *ds for Hyzer max distance shots and headwind distance

haha, we'll see. mostly i'm just worried because i'm seeing turn on these out of the box. not a lot - just enough so that it winds up directly in front of me whether it goes 400' or 450'. everyone around here says a "good" destroyer is stable/overstable so i was concerned maybe i had a "bad" one.

so naturally i searched through ALL of the threads, read the entirety of this one and the others regarding various tops. my rims are convex/rounded so that seems kosher, despite the flat tops producing a "ridge" of sorts on it that you can feel but not really see.

all in all, it was pretty cool to throw these since my P-DD2 turns a lot more and it's harder to hit that height/angle combo of perfection to get the max distance. that disc does bomb, but with these all i have to do is throw them and stop worrying about it. :D

if i get rid of them i will let you guys know since they're such a nice light pink color.

i DO get a kick out of saying i have a pink destroyer.

here are my new buddies

yeah, i know they look suspect with that ring of color around the ridge. i was reading that there was a run of "vulcan topped destroyers that weren't really vulcan topped". i assume these tops are just flat so you can see that ring. the rim's convex so i am pretty sure i'm good. :) the black one is flattish with a small dome and the blue one is flat.

I don't know why but I love vulcan destroyers. Maybe mine aren't exactly vulcan but they seem to be. I have an Avery as well as some echo's that are vulcan ish. They are my faves.
