[Latitude] Switching Entirely to Lat64 - Your Recommendations

I also believe for the distance you are throwing that a Flow would be a good fit for your main distance driver. The Flow probably isn't gonna work for a turnover driver, they just are not that understable. I would say try a Bolt to fit that slot. I would not mess with the Havoc or the Villian, just to much speed for your distance.
Also if you are a Buzzz lover I would definately try a Core. They kicked the Buzzz outta my bag a long time ago. They fly very similar but the Core has more glide.
I doubt he will get the Bolt up to speed enough to hold the anny! The Bolt can fade hard if you don't get it ip to speed.

I personally wouldn't do it. I'm not a huge fan of Lat. They do have some great discs, I've just found things that work for me better within other manufacturers. I'm also not a huge fan of the "glide". It always felt uncontrolled for me. A disc like the FD is packed with glide but I feel its more controlled and I know exactly where its going. If I had to throw all Lat my bag would go something like this....

Distance
Halo - main distance driver
Bolt - tailwinds, tight long shots, annys

Fairway
Saint - main fairway
River - flat top for annys
XXX or Trident - overstable

Mids
Core - workhorse mid
Pain - OS
Fuse - US

Putters
Pure - opto or GL as a driving putter
Mercy - putting

If you're open to stuff Lat produces, but doesn't specifically put their name on it, consider a Warship for your mid. Great great great controllable mid. Buzzz like with tons of glide.

I don't quite understand only buying one brand unless you are sponsored by them. Even then, many pros will include discs from sister brands. Innova players carry Discmania. Discraft players carry DGA.

However, if you are going all Lat64, I would echo Keltik's suggestion. Maybe drop in a Flow if it is really windy...for headwind distance drives. Other than that, it's a pretty solid minimalist lineup. I use Saints and Teebirds as my primary drivers and they work well. I also carry a Vision for rollers or really tight anhyzers.

i am curious as to why you are switching?

Why is this a decision that has to be justified? Half the fun of disc golf is finding and trying new stuff, regardless of what form that takes. If the OP wants to go all-Lat, why should anyone else judge?

Onemilemore, I don't think either of us were judging the guy, I think just curious. I come here to learn and try to share a little wisdom of experience. Bradharris gave a good answer as to why someone might try this, thanks Brad, it does make some sense. I have been playing a long time and don't know if I could walk away from some of the discs I have used for years. Though, it might improve my game if I tried.

With the OP's power range, I do like the River and Saint as driver options.

Totally agree. I have an all Lat bag and about the same power. My GL Bolt has just a touch of high speed turn, I just don't have the arm for it I guess. I recently picked up an Air Bolt(159) and geez that thing turns. I was surprised that right out of the box I could hyzer flip it! Anyone else try one yet? I haven't seen any reviews on it.

Anyways definitely a GL Saint/River combo, love those two!

Saint, River, Warship, Fuse are mainstays for an all Lat 64 mfg. bag. IMO, an Opto Pure is a must have for driving putter/short approach as well. A good and flat Striker can be a good addition as well.

No judgement, rather a observation. If you feel it was worded in judgement, I appreciate you correcting me; I didn't intend it that way. I agree with throwing whatever you like, it is after all a game and if you aren't enjoying yourself, what is the point?

As you said, he doesn't need to "justify" it, however, I am curious why. I am always curious as to the driving force behind any decision (disc golf or otherwise). If he simply loves Swedish plastic, so be it. However, he could be making the decision based on a false premise, such as "only Swedish plastic has glide."

Brand loyalty is for sponsored pros (obviously) and ams. Good luck

That there is sig worthy...

Taking into account the OP has been playing 1 1/2 years... it sure is tempting to keep trying new/different discs... but at that stage of your career, your skills are going to be changing just as fast as your bag configuration is changing.

If you're gonna switch to lat64 or some other brand.. it doesn't matter what you choose to throw, just make sure you stick with those same discs for a complete season and get to know them and yourself better before jumping ship again. Switching discs often retards your learning curve.

I can RHFH hyperflip my 158 Air Bolt longer than only other disc I have. However is I try to FH this disc it will almost always turn and burn. I find this interesting since I have very clean form (85% of the time I FH my shots).

The Air Bolt must be really US for it to act that way for me.

But I do love it BH with just a little tailwind....it will fly a mile!

For forehand players, the super lightweight discs can be very difficult to handle. Especially if you're used to throwing heavier overstable stuff, you're probably putting a lot of muscle behind it and getting a really fast release speed. As you go to lighter weights, that speed increases even more to the point that the disc really can't handle it and just turns over.

I'm right about at the OPs power range myself. I also throw (mostly) Latitude. And similarly, I refuse to give up my Buzzz. I've tried and discarded a lot of Lat molds, but I also don't carry that much.

A lighter GL Flow could be used for anny shots. I recommend a Diamond or River for pure anhyzer shots, though. But learn to hyzer flip the Flow and you'll be pleased with it as a distance driver. The Saint, for all it's tredy hype, is truly one of Lat's most reliable and easy-to-use discs. No all-Lat bag should be without one.

The River is a strange bird. For the first year, I hated it. Once I got in tune with its sensitivity, I fell in love. It's one disc that's like my Buzzz; it will never leave my bag.

I personally love a stiffer, faster putter. So Lat works for me. If you're into slower, beaded, or floppy putters, you may want to look elsewhere. (Or try a Judge from DD) I still use a Discraft Zone in my OS putter slot.

joshuajames and redrum touched on it as well, but the Trident is a seriously useful mid/utility disc. It's a fairway driver in speed only. The disc handles like a faster mid, and is just as easily controlled for those tricky get-out-of-trouble shots.

If you really want a bombing anny driver, grab an Air Bolt. Otherwise, I'd stay away from their speed 13 line-up for now.

That's my experience, anyways. A lot of Latitude discs are touchy. They are the definition of risk/reward. Hit them right and you won't stop grinning. Have a bad round with them and you'll question why you ever were a Lat fan in the first place.

here is my mixed bag that might help you sort out yours OP
Giant...but at your distance I'd suggest the Boatman for hyzers
Bolt...as above (i.e. distance) Saint in GL...although you could keep the Flow...but if so don't also get the Saint (too much overlap at your distance...I'd say the Saint would give you more control than the Flow)
Saint
River...get one of these...a lighter flatter GL
Warship...awesomeness...get one in VIP
Fuse...also nice...I use GL...you can probably use either GL or Opto

I was using the Pure Zero and Opto for driving
the Opto or a GL Pure will go back into the bag in the spring summer

beyond the above which are all Westside/Lat 64 I use the following:
Millennium CE EXP1 for OS fairway duties...as already suggested you can use a Trident in this slot
Zone in Cryztal for driving, buttery beat D for putting...you could get a Sinus for this slot

and a Rattler...there is no Euro equivalent to this disc
this I use for warm up playing catch, get out of trouble, long straight (no fade whatsoever) floaty runs at a basket, some approaches

so it is possible to go all Lat/Westside
but in the end personal preference may result in you using some other manufacturers for certain slots in the bag

All the judgement, Lat 64 has a enough lineup for him to do it, so let him do what he wants. He's asking about specific Lat 64 discs, how they fly.
