Prodigy Disc Thread v2.0

lots of overinflation of self importance in these threads. congratulations since nobodys still heard of you.

i shouldve probably bolded heard.

Everyone knows that Prodigy took their logo from the Lord of Madness, the Ancient One, ruler over R'lyeh, the Great Cthulhu. Prodigy's logo is obviously the Elder Sign; and is a harbriger of the end times when Cthulhu will awaken to plunge the world into a thousand years of insanity and darkness.

Or it's a cute little star.
Their logo reminds me of a Star Trek delta shield made into a star.

Garrett Gurthie's stash.

Did anyone pay to watch PP's video?

Also I am digging how that purple disc looks....

I think R2D2 would add some creativity to the names, standing for Revision 2 of the D2...

Obviously they cant do it for copyright reasons, but Discmanias Letter/Number system works awesome. You know exactly what you're getting. I'm already confused about what the Prodigy discs are and do. But I'm willing to bet in about three months this wont be an issue.

Have to agree. I had a lot more acclaim for these players before they joined Prodigy and started telling us how they will revolutionize the sport with their "awesome" discs. The Prodigy kool aid is strong, I'll give it that. At this point I'm tempted to say if these discs don't make me win the next NT it'll be a disappointment.

This company looks more and more like just somebody with a lot of money throwing it around, like Mitt Romney bought himself a disc golf company and now he wants to cash in.

Is this the next big leap in disc golf technology? Doubt it. Ain't nothing but some pictures on the web and some big big promises so far. Has anyone heard Prodigy explain why their discs are better than anyone else's?

This is the PM I got:

As for the wide rimmed Prodigy discs, I have also always favored the Wraith because of control. However, the way the seam is configured and the edge is rolled on the bottom rim (of the Prodigy drivers) I think you will find that the discs feel and throw like a much narrower rimmed disc.

So evidently the claim is that there is a configuration of the wing that is supposed to make it more comfortable in the hand. The super-duper fast discs will have the feel and control of a super fast disc with the distance of a super-duper fast disc. Just as long, easier to throw and control. At least that's what I understood.

Maybe you should create a separate thread? Or maybe not, since I'm sure no one will pay to watch it when they can get something similar for free on YouTube. But if you really HAVE to know...

I shouldn't need to create a new thread since the video that I was talking about is the video where she is throwing some prodigy discs. I doubt you will find a video on youtube of someone throwing a prodigy disc right now.

I wonder if by rounded he means a rim similar to a undertow or a raging inferno. That's what I'm gathering anyway.

That would be interesting. I like how a wraith flies, but I do not like how the wide-rimmed discs feel in my hand.

Or the original Inferno...that thing flew a LONG way compared to everything else out at the time.

I am thinking this is similar to what we will see.

I don't like how wide-rimmed discs feel in my hand either. That said, I've never thought of the Wraith as a wide-rimmed disc like, say, a Nuke.

To me, the Wraith doesn't feel that different in the hand than a Valk or Viking.

Nuke: 2.5cm
Wraith: 2.1cm
Valk and Viking: 1.9cm
