Pike's grab-bag sale: What did you get?

Well, let's see what we all got from Pike in our $20 grab bags. I'll go first.

176 X-Clone (8/10), 175 Polaris LS (5/10), 170 Polaris LF (7/10) and a 148 DX Cheetah (7/10, clovered top).

For my $20 I got about $20 worth of base plastic, if I paid retail for them today at the local PIAS. So I suppose I can't be dissatisfied, since this was clearly a gamble, which I keep telling myself in all cases means BUYER BEWARE.

I did get four discs instead of three, which was a nice touch, but none are desirable nor bear even a vague semblance to my stated preferences: Whippet, Gator, Rhyno, Firebird, Eagle, Tank, Sniper, Comet.

It may be that there weren't any of those molds among those 600+ discs being touted as "everything from collectible tourney discs from the 90s, rare collectibles, circle and half-circle Innova. . ." Or maybe there were, but better molds and premium plastic might be going a different route than to those of us with grab-ass bags.

Pike's developing feedback shows that some buyers so far are happy with their discs, others not so much.

I applaud the creativity of Pike's sale, and with even one preferred mold, or any single un-preferred disc in premium plastic I would have called it a "positive" transaction.

What did you get?

Glad you posted this. I'm getting great feedback from most buyers and a couple of not so happy discern. I'm curious what others think about the grabs received.

i got a 175 x-clone, a jls SE plastic , and a 1999 texas tournament stamped disc that i have no idea of model or plastic type

MOVED TO GENERAL DG DISCUSSION FORUM FYI.

Pike knows Im not super satisfied with what I received Haha. Like you said it was a gamble. But it seems like a lot of people got Millennium plastic and in all honesty if I knew there was a lot of Millennium in that pile I wouldn't of gotten the grab bag. Anyway, on to what i received...A Millennium LF Polaris LF, a Millennium EXP1, and a DX Banshee.

I was happy with the kc pro banshee but was hoping for something other than millennium discs. Oh well, chance you take.

I believe I've PMed most everyone that bought a grabbag to post their reveal here, even the not as happy buyers. I'm curious of what everyone thinks of the sale after all discs are reveled.

I am pleased with my purchase. I did have to spend an extra $15 to get the eagle added to the bag but I still think it isn't a bad purchase.

Here is what I received:

Cactus Stamped Cyclone
10x KC Pro Eagle
Texas Stamped Aviar

The only problem I've seen with the system is the condition ratings. Everything is pretty dirty (don't know why but every picture has a dirty disc in it). Pike's thread said that all the discs are 7-9/10 condition. I somewhat agree with that. I think at least one disc in each bag has an 6/10 disc and I have yet to see a 9/10 conditioned disc. I may rank more harsh than he and others do, but that's kind of a put off. His thread is totally reasonable and its all about chance, so it's all cool.

This thread seems like it could get ugly - fast. :\

I don't think so. $20 for 3 discs is a good deal. Every disc shipped is a hard to find disc. I just think people will need to give the plastic that they are unfamiliar with a shot and throw it before judging it. My local buyers are loving how the millennium discs fly.

4x valk. Le first run Xl. And a x cyclone. Valk is a 6.5 Xl probably 7.5 and x cyclone 8 or 8.5 in my book.
