Out of curiosity which college might be the best for a disc golfer? Make sure to consider courses either on the campus or around the school, and stores with discs nearby.

Augusta St usually has a very solid team for Nationals every year, and they are usually in the top 10 nationwide but NCSU is the school that needs some avid disc golfers!! I am a senior in my last semester so after this year there will be a spot opened up on the A team with plenty of spots on the B team.. Didnt know DGCR could be used for recruiting haha:clap:

^^ Winthrop has to be in the conversation - beautiful course with two layouts right on campus. Plus Boyd Hill's within walking distance (1 mile), Elon Park (Eager/Angry Beaver) is a 30 min drive, and many of Charlotte's great courses are within an easy drive.

University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) isn't bad if you have a car...plenty of good/great coure within a 30 minute drive (not a shabbby educational institution, either). I suppose it all comes down to transportation.

Alabama, Oregon, and Colorado St are three schools that play really well in the NCDGC. As a midwest school, our team traveled to Ottumwa, IA for a qualifier and played the campus course at Indian Hills Community College. Nice course!

Indian Hills is awesome! Another great college course in the Midwest is Crown College in St Bonifacius, MN. Not sure about the school but the course is solid.

WKU is solid for number of courses, 8 within 5 miles of campus and holler in the hills is just 15 minutes away. We havent been competitive yet in events. More info can be found at ncdgc.com

The Hocking College course in Nelsonville, OH (about 15 minutes away from OU) is a solid course. Lots of good elevation and risk and nothing unfair.

I wonder about their disability programs and accomodations for deaf disc golfers =]

Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona has a course on the property, Thorpe within walking distance, McPherson(5mins away), Snow Bowl, and..?

Winthrop for sure. We're starting a club team this year and have a nationally known course on campus with a shorter course option as well as 2 more within walking distance. Also there are several Charlotte courses (Elon, Renny, and others that have hosted national events) half an hour away.

We will have plenty of spots on the UGA team next year. All the grad students have used up their 6 years of eligibility (we're actually the reason that rule was made up lol) and I'll basically be the only returning player :(

Miss State has a good team and good courses nearby.

Doesn't Liberty University have a good team? I know they have a course on campus.

Based on my observations from Nationals last year, you could probably learn the most and improve your game most by going to Oregon or Alabama Huntsville if you are interested in the competitive scene. Both their "coaches" are extremely strong players and know how to teach the game.

A couple guys from Huntsville were throwing 450 ft + after 9 months of playing, and their big gun has like 600 ft golf distance.

I have heard that Feldberg works with the Oregon team quite often because he is a professor at Oregon. I am not saying you will be a 1000 rated pro just by going to one of those schools, but its probably the best bet to maximize your potential in a short amount of time.

I know I'm being a homer but NC State is the place to be. Top 10 team, 8 courses with a 3 disc rating or higher within 25 miles, a Houck championship level course almost complete, there's like 5 more courses in the works as of now, great private courses in the area, it's in NC which is well known for it's disc golf, Charlotte is 3 hours away when you want to make a trip, and wolfpack red is the best damn color to wear.

It doesn't appear Feldberg is involved with the Oregon team or even living there any more.
