[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

Threw the Four20 170M yesterday for the first time in a tourney (big no no) handled all the torque my forehand could flick, very straight to a decently long fade. Ended up by a left OB street lined with 100 foot trees blocking a clean shot back towards the fairway on a big 850 par 4. Four20 came out and flew true with a sick skip parking 15 feet from the goal happy happy awesome disc!

Appreciate the reviews on here for the 420. I'll be ready for when they come out in June!

Four20 performed again in high winds this past weekend. Didn't think I would be bagging it, but it is providing to be extremely useful. Glad it isn't as overstable as the protos were.

Not trying to be critical but I am just a little disappointed this disc is not as overstable as the testers were saying the protos were. I don't really see the point of it if it's just "a little more overstable" than the O-Lace. I was always hoping for at least an Champion Ape-like stability.

I too was hoping for an overstable Vibram along the Boss/Ape lines. I guess I'll wait until June to see how the disc actually flies.

Oh, it is still crazy overstable. I just feel like my tester was almost un-throwably overstable. Like I could barely throw it 300 ft.

I do not have a new ape or boss to test with the new 170M Four20 but this thing is a mile more overstable than my well thrown 175 star boss, my usual windy disc. Big reliable fade, gotta snap it just right to get the max distance but she is super comfy and grippy, the flight plate is really gummy like a medium lace not ascent. Very sleek disc also.

Just bought one off of disc nation, I had some Paypal saved up so I decided to spend it on the disc. I know the name offends some people, but you have to get over it. When its all said and done, it's only a piece of rubber....if you don't like it, stop worrying about it. You are obviously not a vibram thrower, which I am. And what about the disc named the "stalker"... That's actually a crime, Four20 if you're referring to the pot reference, is just a reference... And honestly who doesn't know a disc golfer that doesn't smoke....lets be real, this is a pretty hippy sport which was started by hippies. Yeah I know they're changing the name, just wish people could be more chill about a name

A big reason why to change the name is because there's no sense in over-shadowing how great Vibram discs are with TMZ-style non-controversy that is going to play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people who have nothing better to do than complain, ad nauseum... no offense to those who took offense to the name of the disc, but there's no offense intended when naming other discs after LORD knows what else other companies referenced in their naming.

I think it's important to hold off on making any judgments on whether it's over-stable enough for our liking... the flight pattern on InBounds suggest something very meaty, yet delicious. I'm excited!

I'm a power-forehand player, but I throw backhand for accuracy, so I'm pretty excited to throw the 420 forehand, as well as overhand-style.

I agree, it wasn't a smart choice but didn't think people would flip out about it. I laughed about it because I have a four20 proto, thought it was funny they used the proto type name. But oh well I love my rubber! And can't wait for a complete line up :)

In the past two days I have played at two very different courses with the big 170M Four20. This disc is amazing! Was wishing for some real wind and sure as hell got it. 1st course Olive Glen is a short tight hallways low ceiling run through. This is where I found putting a little anny on her is all it takes to set her on the solid line to the big fade :p I have yet to accidentally chop this disc upwards and it seems really difficult to do so. It has a natural low flying ability I find to be extremely reliable and awesome! Sun Valley was yesterday, my most played and score challenging course. Big open shots, huge elevation changes and big consistent wind gusts sounded like the perfect place to huck her. Had a big 300ft RHFH drive with the anny that was heading straight for chains before hitting the palm tree 2ft on the left :D Reliably got me through two tough mandos and chip shots with this thing is really where it shines! She gets around, skips then sits lol Going to give alot of credit to the Four20 for helping me achieve my best score at Sun Valley to date ZERO, one bogie one bird! Finally a par game at the butt kicking death putt windy freaking Valley of Sun! Thanks Vibram! Have a new favorite disc.

Wow, now that I see the disc I can see how it threatened the past, present, and future of disc golf (as well as the fate of the world). Good thing they decided to change the name, otherwise civilization itself would have crumbled within 3 months or less.

I know, pure visual evil.

I took one of mine out for a test drive the other day, that thing is a beast. Handled the wind well for what my arm could put into it. I'm thinking FH will be incredible for L-R doglegs once it gets a bit seasoned. That should happen fast with my constant tree love lately.
