Based on my comparisons, a max weight yellow Tensor is as OS as a Drone and definitely more OS than an Obex.

Would anyone know if a Tensor is more overstable than a Vibram Obex? I compare an Obex to a Wasp so is it more overstable than that or right about the same overstability?

Man, I wish I could find an OS Obex, or just one that flies Wasp-like. Every Obex I've thrown has been like a Roc3/flat top Roc; straight stable with a penetrating fade.

So I'd imagine a Tensor is more OS, as it's the step up in stability from a Vector and the Vector I threw had a little more LSS than any Obex I've thrown.

the tensor has more low speed fade than a vector and is imposible to turn over, great for strong headwinds.

How does a tensor compare to a Zone? (which is my OS disc)

How does a tensor compare to a Trident? (which I was thinking of getting for my OS slot)

But I really like MVP so I'm trying to talk myself into a tensor over those two.

More forward fade than a zone and slower than a trident. Its basically the same in regards to HSS but will travel on a straighter line initially like throwing a trident fast. Zones seem to have an earlier fade giving them more of a swooping hyzer compared to a very straight flight and reliable fade from the tensor.

IMO a tensor is more workable yet still as dependable in wind etc given its straighter flight than most similar OS mids.

It would sit right in between the two in my opinion. You would have some overlap with all three, but the Tensor alone isn't as piggish and glideless as the Zone, nor a long as the Trident. Also, the super o/s fairway drivers (Trident, Whippet, etc) have a fundamentally different fade than even the most overstable midrange. That's not to say that they're indispensable, but you could say that there is a hole between the Gator/Zone/Tensor and Predator/Firebird/XXX.

Edit: for me, I like the Tensor for general duties and a C-Flx Zone for the shorter utility work. I did end up dropping my Cryztal Zones in favor of the Tensor though.

For me the Tensor and Zone are different enough to carry both. The fade and shape are comparable, but the inside rim on the Zone is different. Tensor seems a little taller as well.

Tensor is easier for me to throw straight with good late fade. Tensor has more glide. For me to get a longer Zone flight from the Tensor I have to give it a little hyzer. Thrown flat it is ever so slightly shorter than a Vector with a touch more fade. Because of it's glide the Tensor can reach a little longer than the Zone, maybe 15-20'. Zone is better, for me, for hyzer bombs and forehands. I find myself throwing the Tensor off the tee and Zone for approachs and heavy wind. The two are comparable but not drop in replacements.

My Tensor is a flat, white 175 and Zones have been a Crystal Z I lost and an ESP of the same weight. If I could only have one I'd personally choose the Zone.

I must have thrown a weird tensor, but that thing flew just like my first run suspect. straight for about 275' then fade. I didnt read through a lot of the posts so im not sure if this was brought up already. and I do keep a zone and suspect in the bag, as the suspect, like the tensor I threw, was longer and glidier than the zone.

nah i had the same experience. i think tensors and suspects fly the same..
nothin seems to be able to touch the zone, but i don't bag one because of severe bag ocd.

Whats the verdict on light weight Tensors? Some have mentioned they can get them up to speed faster and turn over better for some scenarios

A brand new glow zone (I'm assuming z is the same) is way more OS and OAT resistant than the one tensor I have. A 6 month old glow zone is more comparable but still far more OAT resistant.

why are you throwing with oat? not supposed to do that.

It is hard to say how one is "supposed" to throw. However, if you have control over the OAT you put on the disc, OAT resistance wouldn't be a very valuable attribute. I am not even really sure what it means to be more OAT resistant.

Any good pro level golfer will incorporate controlled OAT into certain shots. It opens up a lot of possibilities that aren't executable without it.

OAT resistance is the ability of a disc to resist moving in the direction of the torque that is not applied around the axis perpendicular to the disc. Higher speed and more overstable discs tend to be more OAT resistant. When you apply OAT you ultimately take away from the distance potential of the disc, and the flight also can become less predictable. This is why people say to work to throw with less OAT.
I do agree that controlled OAT can be a useful tool, but the reason for that is advanced line shaping, not sheer controlled distance shots.

I've had a few rounds with my Tangent now and I gotta say that I am actually liking it a lot more than I initially thought I would. It doesn't turn very much when thrown flat but I have found this is very good for shots that need to go slightly right. I had some beautiful approach shots with this thing yesterday and even my friends were impressed.

I can still get this disc to turn pretty well if I need to although it needs a decent anhyzer to make it happen. Still, this disc is pretty versatile and can cover just about every angle since it has a reliable fade. I really like it for shots at the basket and long putts that need a little more cruise on them. I don't think I'll be an MVP fanboy any time soon but this disc has definitely won me over. I even wasn't sure about how easy it would be to spot the yellow-green color but this disc seems to glow!
