Highbridge Hills - Wisconsin

Roger that. Bear is hands down my favorite course on the property. And, that is probably largely because it is in areas and has terrain that prevents mowers from getting to a lot of it....which prevented it from being maintained. It was not in great shape when I played it, but was playable....if I paid attention to where my disc landed.

Dave, we played bear last fall and it was perfectly mowed. With some of the new management and staff up there the courses are in the best shape they have ever been.

Any idea why only 9? They always had 18 in the past as far as I know.

Roy, they moved Bears baskets to replace Woodland Greens baskets. They sold WG's and are apparently using home made ones to go on Bear. I don't know about that decision but new baskets on WG will be cool. Will check it out the end of September!

Maybe because maintaining it is too much. When my wife and I played it a few years back we were told by john that it was mowed and in good shape. That was not the case....almost every hole had knee high grass in the fairway. Its too bad because that course is the best one there IMO. He's better off closing it and others down so he can focus the man power on maintaining what they are able to maintain.

Interesting. WG needs new baskets but I would have preferred them leaving the good baskets on bear and putting the homemades on WG. Oh well, hopefully Bear is back in its full viciousness soon.

Bear was well mowed, even given the tough terrain and the fact that some parts were quite wet; two weeks ago. I was looking forward to playing 18. Regarding baskets; Woodland gets played much more than Bear, which I imagine was a big part of the decision.

F bear. We walked off at 15 and were both half a bag lighter of discs it was stupid. Some baskets had grass growing up into them lol.

Glad to hear things have improved in recent year.

Woodland does get played alot, from what Ive observed (been to Highbridge 6-7 times this year, going tomarrow), probably cause of the large amount of short shots, compared to the big long ones found on most of the other courses at the complex.

I love the layout of WG, but I was growing extremely frustrated with the baskets, and Im not one to complain; my home course only has Lightning DB5'S after all.

But those old ones with the crappy chains gave me sooooo many spit outs where nearly any other basket would have caught them, I was ready to give up playing WG. But now I almost play it every trip w the new baskets. Good decision imo.

We'll be up there for 3 days / 2 nights next week. I'm hoping that the Tournafest event left the course in great condition, not trashed. It'll be the first visit for the 3 of us that are travelling up there.

I played the old woodland greens baskets this past weekend. I'm not going to say where they are; as it's a good course that should not get "dinged" for having those baskets...:)

Aaahhhh you're killing me with curiosity :p

18 days until my first throw at Highbridge, pretty excited :). Anyone play this past weekend or two that can speak to the overall condition of the place?

Badger was out there. He said it was all in really nice condition. Golf carts running.

excellent to hear, thanks. my milk crate full of backup drivers and scotch can hardly wait :D.

Anyone know if Bear is 18 yet, or might be by next weekend?

No first hand knowledge, but I was told by someone who was there about a week ago that Bear is still 9 and likely to remain for a while.

I plan to play there for the first time tomorrow morning (8/29). Really looking forward to it.

How'd you like it glassila? I may have seen you out there as I was there today too.

Even though we did not play very well it was very enjoyable.
We played Blueberry from 11am-12:30 and Gold from 12:45 to about 2:30pm.

The courses were in great shape. The signage is pretty rough.

Headed out there today for the first time. Is the night course reasonably lit or are leds a must?
