How far do you throw?

How far do you throw?

Up until about 18 months ago, I could throw a thumber about 300' on level ground (with no wind). Now my best throws average about 300' with a RHFH. My backhand drives are either weak or griplocked, so I don't use them.

I honestly don't think I've ever seen anyone that can throw over 400' consistently (pros excluded). The farthest throwing people I've ever encountered on the course were probably around 350', 375' for max D. Hell, the average distance for the people I've seen on the course is probably somewhere around 250'. Of course the sport isn't quite as popular here where I live.

I felt sorry for 500-525 because nobody had voted for that one.

Dang it.....I thought for sure you had some water-proof logical or mathematical reason for voting that. Must be getting all mushy and sentimental in your old age!

Really? I've played with a number of ams that if you told them to throw 10 discs 400' they'd get 8/10 easy. One tourney i played at am1 i thought i might throw farther than the guys in my group and then we all stepped up to the first hole, 301' on flat ground, and everyone threw a mid range and reached the pin (or past it)

225 - 250 consistently. Just started using uDisc to measure my throws. Now I measure every single one of them haha.

How far do can you consistently throw with a driver? (Not max distance but consistent golf distance)

This qualification is a good start, but "consistent golf distance" varies quite a bit depending on course style (hole style actually):

Narrow long corridors (restrictive) - Nevin, Camden II, Leviathan, Highbridge Bear

Long open but with OB (placement) - Winthrop Gold, Fountain Hills, Cliff Stephens

Long and open (non-punishing) - Brandywine, Red Hawk (?)

Long with some obstacles (shot shaping) - Selah Creekside, Highbridge Gold & Blueberry, Lemon Lake Blue, Little Lehigh

I look at it like this, if we're talking "consistent" and "golf lines:"

I can get within my 75% putting range about 75% of the time out to about 300'.

How much you wanna bet I can throw a Destroyer over them mountains?

so stoked to say I broke 400 a week ago. Gotta stretch it though, especially getting my mids to 350. Always field working!

I can consistently hit 300ft golf lines, but I want 400ft. More after watching a 16 year old hid and his older brother hitting 650 - 700 in the distance comp at the BDF last weekend...

Woo, I'm average! (~300ft) considering I've only played for just over a year now I can't complain. Would love to be able to consistently hit 400ft but that'll come in time hopefully.

i throw as far as it takes for me to birdy the hole or be in line to have a favorable shot. max d does nothing for your game unless you live in the middle of nowhere usa with no trees.
