[Putters] Driving putters.

All this talk about driving putters and the opto pure is really making me jones for it back in my bag, uuuuuuugh. Thank god for the tangent, don't need the pure with that thing around. :p. Seriously though, opto pure is amazing.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned the Discmania P2 yet? ;)

Won't turn over on a drive and on the other hand it won't fade very much if you put power behind it. Very good for <300ft.

I recommend getting a P-line or S-line max weight.

Dga sp line breaker. Mine, however, has a crazy zipper top and zipper bottom. I don't think I'm a fan of the zipper, but the disc itself is a must-have in every bag!

Yeah KCP Aviar or if the big bead bugs you then P-P2. Basically the same good things apply to both: good grip, durable but not un-breakable, stable enough but not too much to work only on bid fade lines. I bag both.

I putt with a JK aviar-x. When I "learned" the value of a driving putter I started with KC pro, but switched to a premium plastic putter because I play mostly wooded courses (and was beating the putter too quickly). I now use an Ion in warm weather and a Firm Ridge in cold weather (grippier). Both have beads. Both feel comfortable in my hand, and I feel confident with them. I have picked up a PA4 to see if there's benefit to me for an understable off the tee.

there is only one good answer.

because you will notice it says "short range driver" right across the top
(I also like a zone)

It holds the purest lines out there, and comes in lovely premium plastic for a long life!

Having a combo of Stable/OS to understable is key.

Wizard/Magic
Pure/Spike
Ion/Pa4
Aviars (one OS one with/no bead or very beat)
Challenger/Magnet
VP/Summit

All great driving putter combos to learn differences of and experiment with. Interchange any of the 1st and 2nd listed as well or find the first in different plastics.

I love Pigs for driving putters. They start out overstable, but easily beat into straight (pro plastic). They feel great in the hand and have an easy release because of the shallow, thicker rim.

Pig, Wizard, Anode, and Ion are the putters I've used for drives. But they all have a use once you can stretch a putter over 200'.
