how many people is too many?

Ive adjusted oob rules on my course

players bitch typically only when it affects them

A tourney can be a fluid situation sometimes rules are made to be flexible and the TD can make a decision

I dont study the rules but Im assuming some are inflexible and some are flexible

ive heard enough cospiracy theories in regards to the touring pros to assume that even 5simes wint prevent cheating

BTW, I thought you told me at Wintertime Open that you used to be a PDGA Certified Official and that you had been a PDGA Tournament Director. Your PDGA membership is not current, so I can't see your stats.
Did you have a different number years ago when you were running PDGA events? Maybe a number like 34207?

Jeff Harris 34207 was born in 1973
Jeff Harris 60630 was born in 1974

You know during the three rounds that I played on the same card with Jeff at the Wintertime Open, he also told us that this was not his first Wintertime Open. He had played WO several times before. He said it was an event that was worth travelling to and that he didn't want to miss it.

When I look up old Wintertime Open results, the only Jeff Harris listed has PDGA number 34207.

Just sayin....

What possible reason could a person have for signing up for a brand new PDGA number? Hmmmm.

Ironic coming from the voice of the notion that TDs must absolutely never bend a hard and fast, black & white rule ever ever ever.

The link JC posted shows that Jeff Harris #34207 was suspended from the PDGA in 2012.

Jeff Harris #60630 has not passed the Officials Exam and there is no record of him attending the Wintertime Open before 2014.

Jeff Harris #34207 attended Wintertime Open 2008-2011 and also ran a PDGA event in 2011. Jeff #34207 has a player rating of 913 and passed the Officials Exam.

Ok seriously this is really a little stalkerish. It's really kind sad that you have that kinda time to devote to trying to dig up dirt when there isn't anything there. I don't know what to tell you. My number is 60630... yes there was a person with my same name that attended prior Wintertimes opens...there was also one this year as well... so please explain that one to me. Did I sign up and play twice this year? There are a total of (5) jeff harris's signed up at one point or another with the PDGA as well as many many many more all over the country, it's kinda a common name. And frankly I don't see what any of this has to do with the fact that I called you out for selectively implementing hard and fast rules. Is this just trying to make me look bad as a way to try to dismiss what I have brought up?

I know my passion sometimes can be a little strong, which can lead me to maybe not drop certain subjects. I love this sport, I do what ever I can to grow the sport and help create great events to increase public awareness. I am not though a fan of the PDGA. I have a personal issue with someone at the very top of the organization that has ruined my opinion of how the organization is run. I don't want to air that dirty laundry in public, but have no problems talking about it in private. I would have probably never gotten a PDGA number except for the fact that an event last year that I signed up for required me to get one the day that I arrived at the event. I will do anything to support the sport, but have no wish to support the PDGA itself.

I will apologize for how my comments may have been received and that I sometimes don't know when to shut my mouth and keep quiet. I won't apologize for my passion for this sport. But I also need to realize that this sport is never going to get to the point where it is regarded as a serious sport. I just need to realize that there are some people that feel the rules don't apply to them and they can pick and choose which ones to follow. Frankly I think it more of a statement on some of the people in the sport, not the sport itself. I just need to go back and enjoy throwing plastic and metal and quit trying to bring legitimacy to something that doesn't need it nor does most people involved want.

When it comes to tournaments, how do you feel about a player cap? are 5 -somes ok? how about 5-somes plus ghost holes to accommodate all the players? for c and b tiers should everyone be allowed to play that wants to, or should there be a strict cap at 4 players per hole?

asking to gauge general opinion, as recently had a friend complain to me about a TD making a strict player cap at a tournament that filled up very very fast, while seeing another friend not fully enjoy another tournament due to no player cap and 5+ hour rounds. as a TD in the past I worked to try and allow as many players as would possibly fit, but now think that having a stricter player cap is better- basically trying to offer the best possible experience to the players vs a lesser experience for more players.

4 player cap. if you have interest in more players/bigger field, expand the tournament to multiple courses/days.

No, this is me trying to make sense of what you told me at the Wintertime Open.

You said to all of us on the card that you had played the Wintertime Open several times before. Are you denying that you said that to us?

You also told everyone in the group that you used to be a Certified Official and that you used to run PDGA events. Are you denying that you said that to us?

I was not the only one to hear these statements. They were also heard by Chuck Borquez, Chris MacMillan, Andy Ransik, Noel Barba, Edwin Silvera, Corin Brown and others.

And all of this circumstantial evidence some how removes the fact that you are an admitted cheater? (And yes deciding what rules to follow and which one not to follow is cheating). I seriously don't know what you beef with me is. It started at this event on the very first hole and other people I talked to said the same thing about you.

And now it looks like you have paid to change my tag line on my profile.

Frankly this is sick and disturbing and yet so very telling of the people that the PDGA chooses to put in positions of authority.

Oh and by the way... Just leave me the hell alone ok?

It's so rare that Discette & I are on the same page... but she totally nailed your lying, PDGA-fee skipping, hypocritical butt to the wall on this one Jeff Harris.

I'm quite impressed with the detective work on this one.

So Mr. Habitat, are you going to claim it's a coincidence that your email address exactly matches the TD's from the 2011 Rim Country Open? You're so busted! Way to carry on about breaking rules when you have gone to great lengths to avoid following them yourself.

I love a great conspiracy...even when it's not the PDGA that's conspiring like this case!

OMG, the world is coming to an end. Mikey and I agree about something.

Are you further denying that you told everyone in the group that you had played in the Wintertime Open before?

I agree this is disturbing. There is nothing circumstantial about the statements you made at the WO.

Calling me a cheater won't change the facts or take you out of the hot seat.

And a big thank you to whomever paid $10.00 to change your tag.

This isn't a court of law and I don't have to explain anything to you.

And to throw it right back at you, tearing me down doesn't change the fact that you are an admitted cheater.

And frankly this has zero to do with this topic. This is a slamfest on me because I had the audacity to call you out when you admitted to being loose with the rules.

This is the internet and I get that, and I totally understand that this stuff happens. I am just going to choose not to involve myself with it going forward. I am sure you are all going to have some interesting comments on that but frankly I could care less.

you get the internet? Anything you post on the internet can be used against you in a court of law or on this forum for that matter...

BTW: I like threesomes and foursomes, Fivesomes are a bit to slow for my pace...
