Alright guys so I entered my first tourney last year and won, and now considered as a bagger. The course was Punderson State Park and the tourney was Puns Labrynth 2. We'll I played in the Rec division and won by 21 strokes, but the big issue is I beat Intermediate by 10 strokes!

Reasons why I played rec
1. Throwing with opposite arm for a few years, but still don't have the same distance.

2. Not the healthiest guy.....really bad lungs , so when I play that course it really kicks my ass ( if I walk up steps I'm out of breath )

So the new thing is they tried to prohibit me from playing Rec when again there's a few players in intermediate that should get moved up as well but don't. After back and fourth with them and the pdga I'm allowed to play in rec, but I think I'm going to pass just to keep peace............... What you think, Bagger or Haters ?

were you playing in a pdga sanctioned tournament? and are you a member of the pdga and have a rating that exceeds the ratings-protected divisions?

21 is a lot.

10 is also a lot.

You win by 21 strokes and you're done in MA2 or lower.

Move up to MA1.

if your rating allows it, play in whatever division you want. i always tell my friends in the same boat that you are essentially gambling with your money so you should play in whatever division that gives you the best chance of getting your money back

I don't have a pdga #. I don't really play in tourneys because of my health, I can be feeling really bad that day and lose my entry fee.

Just curious - but do you have a PDGA rating? If so, what is it?

Reasons why I played rec
1. Throwing with opposite arm for a few years, but still don't have the same distance.

How far are you throwing out of curiosity?

Winning by 21 in rec seems ... odd to say the least. I can see why people were upset.

What I am trying to understand is after winning by 21 last year - why would you want to enter the same tourney as rec again this year? This makes no sense to me.

then you can play whatever division you want as far as i'm concerned, but if you know you're good enough to compete higher, why not do it? i bet you'd be pumped to have some real competition.

i can understand not wanting to have to no-show and lose your money, though i haven't seen a huge difference in entry fees between intermediate/advanced. either way you'd lose money, right? go big or go home, IMO. compete where you're competitive.

be prepared to take some heat if you're doing that well and not moving up. it's going to happen, without a doubt. that is a lot of strokes and i know that if i were 2nd place i'd feel cheated and probably be pissed at you.

I'm throwing around 280 - 315 . Honestly it comes down to two things, my health and me getting something back in return if I place. After about one round I'm done, so my throws get a little wild and I lose distance and that's a disadvantage to me.

I should add I really only play from march - August with usually playing once or twice a week. Like I said I played in my first tourney and won and I thought to my self if I did it again then I would move up, but after one tourney I don't feel I should.

If you're winning ANY division by 10 (much less 21) strokes, you're a bagger. Move up in competition...if you're worried about not getting anything back for your money, then just play casually...that's free.

There's divisions for a reason...if you're not going to get a PDGA membership/ranking, then be honest about your skill level. You give a bunch of excuses...but you still won by a boatload. TD's will start putting you in any division they want if you keep entering their tournaments and trying to be in Rec.

If you sign up with the PDGA, you'll have a rating. Play where you're eligible, if that's what you want to do.

If you're not a PDGA member, or are playing in a non-PDGA event, you're subject to the decision of the TD. Live with it.

Do you have other, poor-performance events to offset that runaway? If not, if that's the only tournament you've played, you should be MA2, and probably MA1.

I am in a mix where i am. I have played 5 tournaments. 2 at winton woods where i just started playing. i shot terrible. then the last year i have played 3 tournaments and 1 league round. 2 intermediate and 1 advanced. in the last year i have placed 1st at Osage in advanced, 1st at Harbin park at CCS and 4th at Lincoln Ridge park with the winter round. I was going through a bad putting phase. I know that i can play really well. I know that i should play advanced. However i know that some of the highest advanced in my area are amazing. So its tough to fork out 50 bucks and not get a good return. I look forward to it and would say i am getting within 2 years of going to open. I need to work on a few things....

1. putting
2 longer driving. I throw about 385 consistantly and fairly accurately. Need to learn to throw 450-550
3. specialty shots- i throw forehand amazingly and backhand amazingly as well. I want to throw rollers. Those are some money shots.

Overall to your original post. You kicked ass. one tourney ok you played really well. you do that all the time then you need to move up.

You may not have a cannon for an arm, but you must have had great shot placement on that technical course. I imagine your cardmates were hitting trees left and right.

Nobody guarantees that you get to win every time you play, so to say that you don't want to move up because you might not make your entry fee back smacks of a sense of entitlement.

You are free to excercise your rights, but if you win Rec by 21 (or even 10) strokes and then go back and play as a Rec, that definitely qualifies you as a bagger.

Really what matters is what your pdga rating is. That is what most players go by. However when i see a guy throwing 500 feet in rec or intermediate he must have a terrible short round. Trust me there out ther.

I'm thinking the OP isn't going to get the answer he's looking for.

Either that, or he's a troll account, and just wants to fire people up.

Either way, it shouldn't even be a question.

I honestly think the question is rhetorical. If think kicking the crap out of rec division and all the people also paying their entry fee, is fun, then you will continue to do so. If you are into the competition and getting better, then you will move up. I am not sure anything said here will clarify right from wrong. Maybe you could try novice.

The op is not a troll account. His threw rounds rated:
957, 875 and 922.

I wonder why people are mad?
