I was just thinkin about how many people live in southern california and how few disc golfers there are around. I meet lots of new people from all walks of life everyday through work and not a disc golfer in the bunch. I have several dg
stickers on both my trucks and I've never seen one on another vehicle. And I drive all over so cal every day. I guess there really aren't that many of us. We're
pretty special.

I had to fly to Salt Lake City for business a few times about 3 years ago. I carried on a small bag of discs for my free time. Each time I went thru security one of the officers knew what my bag was and said they played. I guess that counts as meeting. It sure made getting thru security easier.

I've actually run into a good few disc golfers randomly, but the best story is meeting one of the product designers for the original Grip bag in the Chicago airport. She came up and asked if I liked the bag (I was carrying it on) and then we chatted about it. By that point she no longer worked for them but it was a cool random chance encounter.

I'm sure I know people who play, but I'm too embarrassed to mention that I'm a disc golfer.

"A what golfer?"
"A disc golfer. It's like golf, but with Frisbees. Instead of hitting the ball, you throw a disc into a basket."
"Oh." -Blank stare-

I've seen some bumper stickers around, but not too many.

I think a lot of the casual players, tend not to have stickers on there cars. If I had to put a number on how many disc'ers there are in the Cincinnati area, i'd put the casual number in the thousands(at least 4-6k). A couple hundred that play tournaments somewhat regularly.

I work with people that have played in the past but don't anymore. We have a team fun day coming up though, and disc golf was chosen so I imagine that will change.

Stickers, usually DGA stickers, are pretty common from Monterey up to Santa Cruz, as we have Ryan Ranch, CSUMB/Oaks, Pinto Lake, and Delaveaga, with DGA headquarters tucked in between Monterey and Santa Cruz.

I can't remember the last time I met anyone who had never played.

I made a purchase at a yard sale last week, the seller noticed the stickers on my vehicle and commented that he would have given me a better deal had he known I was a fellow disc golfer.

Met some disc golfers at Punkin Chunk'n last year. Me and my fiance were carrying camp-time stools around with us and a dude next to us said "you guys must be disc golfers".

Dude, you have a million posts on here. Let that disc golf flag fly proudly!

I've met a few in my neighborhood park while doing fieldwork, and I see a few bumper stickers as well. I think we're doing OK, at least locally.

I ran into a guy who worked for me on the course a few years ago; neither one of us knew the other one played. The guy who teaches my daughter drum lessons mentioned to me that he plays. So it's happened twice; both in the last few years.

I mentioned at work yesterday that I was thinking about playing today and the person I was talking to told me that he plays, and his boss goes out at 4am and plays. Knocked my socks off.

Kinda funny.. someone from Team Innova drives around with a bumper sticker that says: DISCRAP (looks nearly identical to the common DISCRAFT sticker).

Maybe it's a common sticker... but it's the only one I've seen.

I started a new job six years ago and while talking to one of my new coworkers we discovered we both played disc golf and started playing. Long story short he has become one of ths best friends I've ever had.

We also found a disc and returned it to a guy about 3 years ago who has become great friends with us.

I have a part time bartending job at a popular bar, so I meet fellow discers all the time.

Usually if I'm wearing, or they are wearing DG branded stuff.
