"Rip Cord" Backhand Breakthrough

So, during some field practice I decided to try something new. I remember reading about doing this "rip cord" technique, similar to the motion you would use when you're skydiving. So, with no footwork, no movement whatsoever, I gave it a try. My disc is gone, I've never put that much snap on a disc in my life lol.

Apparently, I can replicate this, and use it as a much improved version of my drive. But I was wondering if it's effective? Could I add run up to this throw to add more distance? Or is it a waste of time to practice this type of form?

Let me know what you guys think

Do you mean pulling straight through from a standstill? Could you elaborate on this technique.

It's similar to the right pec drill. But instead of holding the disc on a flat plane, you hold it upward on an angle. Then, when you release, you sort of swing down and flatten it out. Imagine throwing the disc from \ instead of ---

Ok where is your starting point? Full reach back?

The average driving distance is over 300 yards? Dang I am so below average.

Lol for all we know he hit the tree in front of him or his disc only went 30 feet into the dirt. Where is the video of the flight?

If you listen, you can hear his shot hit the ground like 30' off the teepad. 'That was a great, great throw' is sarcastic there. This fool has no idea what he's talking about.

"The Rip Cord technique can be quite effective when combined with a running technique. The release of the disc occurs with the disc perpendicular to the ground. The snap comes from the wrist when the arm is at a 45-degree angle. Drawing the disc back to just over the shoulder can generate even more speed."

hmm... would like to see a video of this.

That was the most ridiculous teaching video in the history of the universe. Come way over the top and chuck it into the dirt, "great throw."

I'm genuinely confused. Are these actually for real or is this Lamar Maughan in disguise?

Everything about this video makes me want to pull my eyeballs out.

Where do Expertvillage gets there experts from? The local mental asylum?

Argh.

OP, what you are describing sounds like an air bounce or anhyzer.

it might work for you now, but you won't improve by throwing that way.
