Top Pros Registering for NTs

that might be your troll like opinion but the paegant loses it luster and no one cares to watch ugly girls you could see anywhere

I guess it wasn't obvious, but I should've used the sarcasm font.

a friend of mine who is Innova Sponsored and one of the top females in the world has been locked out of a few events this year and is on wait list for others and she did try to register as soon as her phone alarm went off

Just imagine if Worlds registration was messed up. Imagine Paul McBeth got in, but no other touring pros made it in time. It ends up being Paul McBeth versus 160 players between 930 and 980 rated. Who wants to watch that? What does that do to the legitimacy of his win? What kind of high level competition doesn't have the highest level competitors.

Im sure everyone would be up in arms. The Memorial is close enough. Similar standards should be held.

Worlds will be a mess I guarantee they have no guts to make a simple logical change

To everyone saying First come first served. This is an NT we are talking about. Not a random tournament. Part of the entire point of an NT is the touring player. Otherwise it could be an A,B, or C tier. NT's literally revolve around the pro tour and touring players. The fact that there isn't a system in place to give those people dibs is crazy. Let everyone else battle for it once the top tier has had their opportunity.

BOOM:clap:

This shouldn't even be a discussion. Of course the top pros should be in an NT event. I would go as far as to say the top 50 should be given the option to accept an invitation; prior to being open to the general public.

It's wonderful for TDs that events are now filling like this. But for NTs, there should be some guidelines/professionalism in place, to put the top players in play.

Not ranting on the PDGA; but, isn't this exactly the type of thing they should be in charge of?

:hfive::clap:

I should of got a spot the auctioned it off on the raffle page.

Auction will read:

!!!NIKKO'S MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT SPOT!!!
10/10 new never thrown
Taking offers and selling raffles.

This is a once in a life time deal. Nikko could be playing but you will be playing instead!
- I do not take responsibility for Nikko's actions against you on social media.

Am I off base here? All some of the top pros would have needed to do was sped $0.49 and mail in their registration a week ahead of time to take advantage of lower PDGA numbers and this in the competition manual:"The order of entries received will be according to the postmark of the package containing the entry fee payment" and "In the event that multiple entries are received simultaneously, the player with the lowest PDGA number shall have priority."

I'd be of the opinion that all of those received ahead of the opening of registration would then be considered simultaneously received when online registration opened.

Added: There is probably a better solution, but I'm trying to work it within the current Competition Rules.

yes you are off base
because this methodology could be done by lesser players as well

The funny thing is that normally the top pros don't mind sub 980 players signing up for open, that's just more money added to their pot.

Then when it comes to an NT, those sub 980 guys should just wait in line behind the "real" pros.

America has an empathy problem.
It's not just young white guys who have never missed a meal, but it often is.
Had Paul M. Made this point rather than Nikko, we would have a different tone here.
Funny how we have turned our one minority star into the villian.
Clearly, the PDGA is weak, the players need a union, or the pro tour will suffer.

I think I might be a little dumber after reading this.

A couple quick notes - Is Philo, who is also on the wait list, not a star or not a minority? I'm confused.

Pretty sure Nikko turned into the Villain by being the only person on the waitlist to not have a little personal responsibility for the situation and blame everyone else. I don't see Ricky posting about the system. Personal accountability is a tough thing to have.

You're not paying attention then. Both Ricky and Avery have posted or commented about this.
