[Dynamic] EMAC Truth

For those that have this disc, how is the dome? I got one in the mail today that I've not yet been able to throw, but it definitely has a pop top to it. Not really a fan of my mids having much, if any dome. :\

no pop top. side by side with other lucid truths it looks the same. Not as flat as board flat classic truths.

I do not know how big the restock was, but I was able to snag two more heavy whites. That will be enough to get me through the tournament season. Now to find money to buy a few more backups.

Threw mine yesterday and it's a Truth as advertised. Seems to have a bit more glide though, as mentioned earlier in the thread.

I still think that calling it the EMAC Truth is dumb. They should have just kept it as the Truth and renamed the flippy Truths instead.

I have a new Emac Truth and it definitely has some turn to maybe a -.5, 1.5

Just got a 177 white lucid in the mail yesterday. Side by side to my clear lucid truth, it looks really similar, if not the same. Looking forward to throwing it this weekend, but I amust curious if there will be much difference.

I have the same combo. I am only a few rounds in, but I have not seen a noticeable distance.

Liking the disc a lot. Brand new you can throw it HARD and it still has some finish to it. You really cant do that with the previous Truth run.

Honest question here. I've thrown 3 truths (fusion, lucid, and moonshine), the only one that flips over for me even the slightest is the fuzion cause I bought it used and it's beat in. So am I to think I can't even throw a 5 speed disc?

I can typically throw mids out to about 275' and I can get my verdict out to the same. It seems like all I read about the new EMAC truths, the spot in my bag is already covered by a verdict.... anyone care to explain? Much appreciated, I'm still kind of a n00b.

I find that many people who review midrange discs are throwing 80-100% and base their critiques on those power levels.

When I throw my 177g clear Lucid Truth approximately 220', they have no turn and begin to steadily fade around 2/3 through their flight. At 280' power, they fly very straight then drop out of the air at the very end.

In other words, who knows what power levels these reviewers are basing their critiques on! In my experience, I find that most critique discs at a high power level... Which, for me, is not the level I throw midranges.

I thought the concept was supposed to be similar to golf... disc down and swing full clubs when possible. to each their own though.

I see what you're saying. I usually don't throw 80-100% unless driving or I need to disc down in order to not go too far. My point was that many people throw these midranges at max power and see turn on the disc.

Ah, I use the truth I bought for holes 220-280 with the intention of parking it is more understable than my buzzz in the same circumstances. I throw them between 60-90%. The truth doesnt fight out of anhyzers like the numbers would dictate (or a buzzz for that matter), and also does poorly in headwinds. I have tested it against my Big Z Buzzz/Wasp/Bard and a buddies Roc/Roc+/Roc3's. It is good for low shots with a bit of room to wiggle.

Hmmm... Yeah, a Truth shouldn't be more understable than a Buzzz.

I have a pair of these and they seem plenty stable: https://www.dynamicdiscs.net/Dynamic-Discs-Clear-Lucid-Truth-Eric-McCabe-p/6218.htm

I use Truths from 225 - 375.

I vary the angle of release depending on power and line, but basically I'm flipping them up and they hold great from there. When I threw my old truths 360-380' theyd finish with 20-30' of left to right movement.

I throw my Truths on shots from 280'-330'. Anything less is a putter and anything more is a fairway (generally). I am NOT going to throw a disc at 40-50% power just to get the desired flight of the US run of truths, especially when I can just throw a putter. I understand that some people throw mids at 30%-50'%, but I find that to sometimes be just add inaccurate as throwing at 95%. I bought the US versions of the truth because they feel great in the hand, and will flip up and turn on every shot with 70% or more of power. These emacs are amazing, and I'm glad they're out

What comes to powering down mids, I don't think that the Truth is the best mid for that. It is just quite a fast mid meaning that it will have a substantial fade at the end of the flight if thrown at 50%. Normally you'd get a much straighter flight out of a putter. Even for shots that need to hook up at 200' there are better, more controllable options.

And what comes to EMAC, well done DD. More HSS than Truth, but less LSS than Verdict. I do think that it is closer to a Verdict than the new old flippy Truths, but there is room for all three in one bag.

Infinite has them in stock. I checked local first though they did not order any. Looking forward to seeing if they will be my main mid.

I'm loving these new EMAC Truths. I had taken Truths out of my bag before they released this version because I couldn't find any that were resistant to turn. Before the EMACs, I threw an older Lucid with a slight flip (dumped in headwind), a Fluid with moderate turn that would get a nice flex and finish left on a hyzer release, and a Fusion that was as flippy as a paper plate right out of the box.

The EMACs are perfectly stable! (Not overstable). You can power on them and get them to flip off a hyzer a little, but there's absolutely no drift that I've noticed with my earlier Truths. They handle power exceptionally well. I'm most surprised by how these hold up in headwind. I wouldn't dream of throwing an older Truth into any headwind over 5mph. The EMACs, however, hold a dead straight line, and in some instances have even held their hyzer release.

The EMACs also power down exceptionally well. While I tend to enjoy power-gripping and throwing my mids (Buzzz, Verdict, Truths) relatively hard, I've also enjoy a Truth thrown around 40-60% on a soft hyzer or flat release. The disc is fast enough that it glides on a nice line without flipping up and without crashing to the ground too early. I could really see myself using the EMAC Truth for one disc practice rounds.

Future considerations: I'm not sure what will happen with the Lucid Verdict in my bag. Right now my Verdict is moderately overstable (not a meathook like some I own, and not straight like some seasoned ones I've taken out of the bag). The EMAC Truth might end up overlapping my verdict, in which case I would replace it with a more overstable Verdict or a Buzzz OS.
