[Drivers] Understable driver for a beginner

I'm looking to purchase an understable driver. I am a relative beginner--I've been getting aboiut 250-275 with my River. I have been throwing an Innova Krait and a Latitude 64 River lately. I've been very happy with both, but I'm looking to add something more understable to my bag. I will post a list of what I've been considering. Any input is greatly appreciated and I'm also open to any suggestions for other understable drivers. Thanks!

Innova Sidewinder/Roadrunner/Archangel/Mamba/Monarch
Discraft Nuke SS
Westside Hatchet
Latitude 64 Bolt/Jade

I've been trying my best to look up which ones are stable and overstable, etc, so my apologies if one on the list doesn't really classify as understable. Just let me know and I will note that :)

From that list I would try a Hatchet, Jade, or maybe a Star Roadrunner.

Latitude Fury is also good, very similar to the Hatchet iirc.

The Mamba might also be fun, but I think Fury or Hatchet will give you something with a little faster rim that is still undertstable enough at 250-275.

Have fun!

Underworld!!! Thank me later

Underworld is definitely the answer, that thing just glides for days. Insane unreal glide

Innova Sidewinder/Roadrunner/Archangel/Mamba/Monarch
Discraft Nuke SS
Westside Hatchet
Latitude 64 Bolt/Jade

1. Please do whatever you can to find a Monarch in a store and actually hold it. Some are okay with the groove in the rim, but I am not one of them, and I consider that groove an atrocity.

2. The Nuke SS and Bolt are pretty high-speed drivers for what your post appears to be looking for.

3. My own suggestion is a Mamba in your favorite plastic. You can continue to use the Mamba in tailwinds as you develop your form. And then I'd recommend a Sidewinder.

I assume you are using the krait for straight to fade lines and flexes and River for straight stuff.

Drop the Krait for a not max weight star TB or Eagle. Either will be more responsive at your arm speed. Finding a straight to fade fairway driver now will pay dividends later.

Underworld is the mold you want. If you can't find one with enough flip to do what you want, I donno what to tell you.

Most people here will probably tell you a Bolt or Nuke SS are too fast, but if you throw 275'-300' with slower discs you'll notice an immediate increase in distance with either of them.

They're both fast and glide very well. The Nuke SS is among the longest discs out there. Controlling it and actually getting that perfect flight line to achieve it is a whole other ball game.

Go to a DG store and ask if they have a used section. Look for a DX Third or just buy a DX Third

Innova - tbird (gazelle and leopards in DX are nice also)
Discraft - Comet non Z or ESP. D XL. If you must have a driver Thrasher...

Forget the rest for now, too many brands, too many discs. Don't go for high speed big rim drivers.

I have superlight (139g) Blizzard Krait that I have thrown from the start. Found it, no ink, and just started throwing it, even though I knew it was too fast for me. Over the 8 months I have been playing, my distance has steadily increased with it. My best throw with it is about 380 but usually around 310. I know I am not getting the distance out of it I should but I am getting better and it's fun to throw. Took me a long time to throw it nose down but I am pretty consistent with it now. If you like the Krait, maybe get a lighter one. You could also look at a Vision or a Jade. Both are stable, not understable, but turn quite a bit before coming back. I throw both (they are both 165g) and like them a lot. All that being said, conventional wisdom says to throw slow stuff until you're better and that's almost certainly the right thing. I throw mids much more than drivers and my practice sessions are usually 80% Comet and other speed 5 discs. Still it's fun to throw higher speed stuff and well, the game should be about fun as well as getting better.

OP, what plastic is your River and what kind of flight are you getting out of it?

Relay or the very understable Signal would be MVP's best offers.

Hatchet, Sword, CD2, Beast, D4. My hyzerflip distance driver for a good long time was a Prodigy 400S D4. Love that thing for dead straight lines on a hyzerflip out to around 375' that finish with enough fade to still be a reliable disc. Things like the Mamba and Renegade are too flippy for my liking.

Also, the Underworld is a great understable disc, but not quite a driver like others you were mentioning. If you like the Westside molds, a Hatchet or lightweight Sword would be my suggestion.

Underworld is money. Seer is similar in turn and more fade in my experience - also a good option.

Ignore the suggestion to stick with DC and Innova. That is truly terrible advice.

so many, the list is long, and really because you are new it is less about the tool and more about learning to use the tool.

but if you must hear something, I would suggest a LAT 64 River.
