Lol, I just got faked out by YT. Clicked over to see if they had posted the 1st rd vids, and the one from last years was there...

I Think the change to 13 is terrible. It went from the most intimidating driving on the course to the least.

How is he doing that?
?Putting it on the right side of the fairway and going for the green with a skip on the concrete from there?

In the B position (today and tomorrow), getting close to the basket with a skip off the asphalt would be pretty miraculous. It's 100' farther than the regular position.

However, saying that - the scoring separation is off the charts good.

Harold discussed changes with Andrew and me several weeks ago. He wanted to find way(s) to keep the hole challenging with good risk/reward spread and reduce the likelihood of double digit scores. Looks like what his team decided to do worked, no credit to Andrew or me. We simply supported their tweaks.

Here's something to think about... Wonderkid Kevin Jones got one of the VERY LAST invites to USDGC. He finished 26th at Vibram Open to qualify and since that tournament is so late in the year, most of the top guys have already qualified by then, so they keep going until they fill the 5 slots. He got the last one of the 5. Gibson finished 11th, Renner 17th, Presnell & McCabe at 22, and Jones at 26.

I'd say he is getting getting everything and more you could expect from being one of the last guys in...

Round 2 is complete and here are the top 5:

Nathan Sexton
Jeremy Koling
Gregg Barsby
Devan Owens
Richard Wysocki

4 of the best forehanders in the game and 1 lefty - should one assume this course favors the forehand/lefty ?
