What's everyone's fairway/control driver set up? I'm having a hard time justifying Volt and Wrath, but they're so close in distance that it doesn't make the most sense to keep both speed classes...

For a while I mostly just bagged Craves and Volts and they covered just about everything. Probably helped that one of my cosmic neutron Volts was freakishly overstable.

Uplinks I think we're on the next release, haha I'm kinda passed because I snagged a few but I got em for $35 CAD.. And I remember seeing that so soon on them.

The Volt/Tesla lineup is solid but kinda redundant depending on your weights there's overlap. Tesla is the most underrated single driver option ever made... you can run a full bag with a 145 fission/157 neutron/165 fission/150 plasma/+ everything else 170+ in whatever plastic :D the tesla has more turn and more fade

I haven't snagged a 155 volt but it's a solid contender, a 163 fission Volt is about the same as a 157 neutron tesla. A 162 fission tesla is like a seasoned 170 N volt. A 155 plasma volt for whatever reason is a dumpy turd but it fits in next. Kinda, maybe after a fresh 169 cosmic volt but we're getting out of my comfy zone. Ask moose...

Fairways I'm 157ish relay, then 165 N and maybe a cosmic 165 relay. Been just throwing a 163 fission volt after that or my 165 neutron volt. Shelved the teslas for now with the fission volt finds.

2 Hokom Craves
2 Servos
2 Resistors
Clash
2 Insanities
Fireball

Too many. The lighter Crave and Insanity are probably coming out.

Whaaaaat!!! The insanity is my max D for the winter... that's not a fairway driver! You can't take it out because I love mine.. :D

It's also the only one I bag out of your list haha

I guess 9's either a fast fairway or a slow distance driver depending on how you squint. I only said I'd take one out. I think mine are 161/2 and 172/3ish. The lighter one is occasionally brilliant but mostly infuriating. I'm *positive* that the fault's mine, but the disc can't take the thrower out of the bag.

And I will say that they're sneaky long. I have a trio of Waves at the top of my useable speed, but there are moments where the Insanity will find its happy place and just glide. Really fun to watch.

I (obviously) adore their 6.5 speed stuff in the woods. Similar story with the Craves. The lighter one is occasionally brilliant but mostly infuriating. But when it's right...

Thanks for all the fairway replies! It was helpful to see what other people are throwing. I'll try my bag out with crave-class and volt-class fairways. The wrath seems redundant with volts and traces as well.

For a very short while I was bagging Wrath, Volt, Crave. I dropped the Volt because it was so similar to the Wrath and the Wrath has 2 major advantages. It's easier to find in mid to low 160s weights, which I prefer for my drivers, and it's got cool colored rims that pop instead of black that liked to hide.

The old PP Craves were also my staple, but they were very similar in stability to my Wrath, so I've adjusted my setup with the most recent run of Hokoms that are closer to the flight numbers. So now I just run 6 discs total.

167 Wrath
161 Hokom Crave
155 Resistor (pp, still beefy)
169 Hex
174 Eclipse 1.0 Envy (approaches)
167 Med E Envy (putter)

I've found with just those 6 discs I can really cover any shot I need.

Look man I've launched some campaigns before about the envy being a mid but never had the gall to call it a fairway.

Good show sir! True brilliance.

You lot who bag Craves and Relays together have to tell me why. They seem to fly the same for me.

Sometimes I just want to toss everything out and just bag three Craves of slightly different stabilities. They seem to be able to do anything.

I feel the same about Crave/Relay, and Servo/new N Resistor. I think a third of it is what feel you like, a third of it is form and distance ability, and the last third is how US or OS your particular versions are.

I'm wondering if the older craves were more on the OS side, or if mines a freak. I've got an old flat plasma one that doesn't turn and just goes straight with a mild fade. My relay turns waaaaayyyyyy more.

I'd argue that it's not so much the craves, but old Relays were more US. I had a circuit one from 2016 and it was much more understable than my craves when I threw them both

My relay is a newer run though. Not brand new, but like 3 years old? It sat on a shelf till the past season so it's not beat up or anything.

Id rate my crave 0/2 and my relay -2/1

I bought a relay to partner with my craves for something US but yeah...it just isn't. It was one of the DFX stamped discs so it's got a cool stamp. i will probably end up selling. I may pick up a signal but I was really hoping to get something that was US and speed 7 but it seems like the drift is closest to that but I really want the -3 turn and 1 fade.

And the Uplink flies surprisingly far so there would probably be overlap if I ended up with a signal.

If you didn't live in the opposite corner of the continent I'd grab that cosmic Volt…

At one point I seriously considered switching my fairways to just Volt/Flare going Fission/Neutron/Cosmic Volts to Flares…but it has somehow been cheaper and easier to obtain 3 different molds to cover that slot.

Some of the first runs of relays/craves coming out of the new in-house machines had some variation as they dialed them in with the different plastics. Anyone comparing from those somewhat recent runs could see a lot of overlap. I heard relays were quite HSS stable for a bit, while craves went the other way.

The first run of the Hokom neutrons came out with a low PLH and a lot of turn. Mine turned harder than a relay out of the box (max weight vs 165 relay too), and a touchier turn then a relay—easier to burn. They were sweet with the right angle, but thats not why I throw craves.

The newest Hokum run is probably what MVP wanted, a -1, 1 but very trusty, smooth, handles power, and very straight. PLH similar to PP but maybe a little more shoulder/dome for turn. Neutrons I bought from this run are slightly more OS than recent CN.

Current relays are close to the numbers for me, except that they need a few rounds to take the new off.

I can certainly see the overlap, but the primary difference for me is the power level they work best at. Craves go a bit farther and are very trustworthy on long tunnels at full power. I use craves for most "fairway" shots but carry a lighter relay partially for US, but more so to throw low-power shots through tight lines. Relays power down very well and forehand cleaner than mids.

Long winded, but my fairway line-up is

Resistor (newer—lazily looking for a PP)
PP crave
Neutron crave
Neutron Relay

Sometimes throw in a lighter CN crave for woods. Also a firebird if it counts.
