[Dynamic] Dynamic Discs Bounty midrange

I saw a short video of AJ throwing it. Looks like a -1 turn/1 fade type of disc. He was getting them out there nice with what appears to be only 65% power. I saw Eric Oakley comment on the DD facebook post, and he said they fly like a Speed 4/Turn -1.5 disc. So I'm surprised to hear it's a large diameter mid since Eric estimated it as Speed 4.

Also, I plan on protesting this disc since they could have just kept making my beloved Evidence instead.

I suspect (pun not intended) that we're going to see this a lot. DD kills off some good discs, and then they think we'll rush to buy discs in the same flight arena of the ones they killed?

Too bad Discraft got the Star Wars license, this would be perfect for some Mandalorian/baby Yoda stamps.

I can mostly understand the variety of distance drivers, they can fly very differently at 450 feet. I can mostly understand the variety of putters, gotta have one that feels good in your hand and fades and glides to match your putt.

I cannot understand the variety of midranges. The oversaturation of the market is absurd. Midranges are so workable, they don't need to be perfect.

That is a very good point.

The argument I made back when DD announced the cut is that they should have kept a token understable mold rather than solely cutting based on current sales. DD's understable mids have basically been competing with themselves. If they had decided to keep just the best of their understable molds (cough, cough, Evidence), then that remaining mold likely would have seen a sales boost anyway. The problem wasn't that the understable molds were bad, it was that they had too many of them that were similar.

It's wider than a Roc and Comet and its max weight is 181.8(!)

This is the same diameter as the Fuse, very similar specs except the Fuse is taller. A low-profile Fuse sounds kinda weird.

Mids are very control-oriented discs too so the hand-feel factor is a big part of it. A lot of old school guys like the slower, floatier kind (Roc/Comet) and newer school guys like the faster, more driver-ish kind (Buzz, etc). The demand for such different types of flight isn't nearly as prevalent in drivers, with discs like Cyclones, Gazelles, and Sabers going the way of the buffalo.

True, but like with putters, midranges can be a very individual thing. And while it's the archer not the arrow, some arrows suit some archers best, while others don't.

I like the between floating traditional bigger 180 gram diameter and driver style where the disc is big 180 gram diameter but is more big 180 gram fairway driver like in the way it flies, a rare combo that Innova made when they 3 topped a Shark. Shark is too putter like with the dome making the glide too much like a putter, even a ROC is more midrange like

Oh yeah, drivers there is still a demand for different types of fairway drivers including almost midrange like fairway discs like the Glide and Zombie or Leopard/3 to even the Archer/Stratus discs. Then the control driver like fairway molds like the Mantis or Dragon. Last some slower speed 9 that get called fairway driver.

Distance drivers yes there is a number of them simply due to needs like wind disc, roller shots, turnover and long bombers.

Anyone thrown these yet? I'm doing a TC Sunday and wouldn't mind knowing what I'm in for.

I have not thrown one but my Latitude sponsored friend says it flies like a comet without the crappy hand feel.

Okay, I can probably make that do work. Wish I still had a Comet to practice with.

I was getting excited about sharpie-ing that lumberjack-looking guy on a Bounty (to replace my Alvin Plantinga Warrant), but a Google image search revealed that I was getting my paper towel brands mixed up. Bummer.

Played the trilogy challenge yesterday and the bounty got used a fair bit. It's not fast, but very glidy a lot like a slower Comet that has a Warship hand feel.

Turns a bit, but not a crazy hard turn and burn flight, and the fade is super mild. I could actually throw it pretty far, out into the 350+ range due to its float and near lack of fade.

Has some LSS but when thrown flat with any power the fade is beyond mild.

So compared to a Warship it has a little more turn and less fade?
