[Gateway] Gateway Wizard

I've never had any real problem with them either it just seems that they are one step away from being a flim flam operation. Compare Gateway to a company like Dynamic Discs. To me they do things right, are customer facing and appear to really care about how they are perceived. I wish there was a company like DD in St. Louis to pull off something like the GBO.

Well I have a Ranger bag which is really nice and their discs are pretty good too. Then there is Paige Peirce. Obviously not very substantial I know. I guess you'd have to give some examples to make a dent in my opinion of them.

I need to re-up on Wizards.
I've cycled through 7 of the 10 Softs that were bought back in 2012, right after Mediums went OOP. I feel like I was very lucky with that blend; very low shoulder, nicely overstable, pretty firm with some grit. They are the closest feeling to KC plastic, like in the pfn 12x Rocs (my all time favorite and bread and butter).
Might give them a call soon, it's just hard hunting through third parties all the time.

My first couple of Wizards were mediums....RIP.

I buy lots of discs online. On two occasions I purchased the 10-putter package from Gateway, specifying that I wanted all Wizards, all 175g, and all soft blend. On both occasions, they sent Wizards in 175g, but with a mix of blends. The latest package came with:
4 soft
4 pure white Wizards
2 eraser
2 special blend 30
2 special blend 18
2 special blend 32
4 ssss

I got 4 of the soft that I asked for, and I like the pure white wizards also. But everything else listed below them is varying shades of too much flex for me.

My previous order was a similar mix.

I thought they made an honest mistake the first time. But, when I saw that the flexes were not as ordered once again, I no longer think that it was a mistake. I will not be ordering anything more from Gateway.

^a hype machine with very little substance?
Truth. I like Gateway being what they are know much more then Dynamics over the top marketing. I like that I can contact Gateway ask for what I am looking for and get it. Try doing that with any other company. I like the they run the company however the hell the feel as well.

All this makes me what to order from Gateway again.

Ya, that's one of the disc by DD. Still waiting to hear specific examples of what is non substantial about DD.

Again, I'm a tried and true Wizard fan but Gateway is a copyright infringement law suit away from non existence. Who will make the Wizards then?

^well for one, most of their instructional videos are about as deep as a kiddie pool.

*in the interest of keeping this thread on topic, this is the last thing I'll post about DD.

Yay Wizards!!!!

Did you call them up and give them a chance to make it right? On a few occasions when they've sent me the wrong blends, I've called them up and, they sent me the right desks and made it right. And they've always let me keep the others as extras.

This has been my experience as well. Once I ordered 50 discs from them and requested a specific stamp color. When I received them, the stamps were varied, but a fair amount of them were correct. When I contacted them, we worked it out and they sent me an additional 25 for free. Great customer service every time I've done business with them.

From your statement, and jswoods1984 after you, it sounds like it is perhaps a common event for Gateway discs to send products that are not as ordered. Maybe even an intentional business practice?

If you are satisfied with these conditions, fine. But,when I am engaging in a transaction with a manufacturer, I believe in trading value for value. I state what I want, and I am willing to pay the full retail cost for it. If they fail to fulfill their end of the agreement, and I have to contact them again in order to get the product that I paid for, I will lose confidence in them as a business.

Suppose the transaction went something like this:
I communicate with a manufacturer to get a particular product. When I receive the product, I send payment which is composed of a mixture of a little bit of real cash, and the balance of the rest of the cost with Monopoly money. When the manufacturer receives this, they will have to contact me to get the rest of the payment in real money. My response could be, "Oh, okay. Since you are calling me out on it, I will send you the rest of the money that you expected to get. And, as a bonus to you, keep the Monopoly money!"
They are not going to think much of me as a customer. And, if this happens multiple times, I expect they will want nothing to do with me.

I want the correct product delivered in a timely manner, without having to go through some runaround due to their negligence. And, it is little consolation to me that I end up with a handful of free discs that I never wanted.

I think you need to chill out.

Maybe try taking a walk in the woods and throwing some frisbees.

I always think of it as the Gateway bonus. If I order five I know something will get screwed up and I'll end up with at least seven for the same price. If I ordered five and got the the five I wanted in a timely manner, I'd be sad that I didn't get my two freebies. :( Hell, if I ordered five discs and nothing went wrong I'd complain. :|

That's just me, though.
