[Vibram] Vibram is back?

Of course I was at the Dr when they dropped.

Kinda glad seeing the $40 price tag. That's nearly collector price range.

How long until a sell out??

3TqzD8V

They have been on sale for 34 minutes as of my post, and the only available discs are low weight Ibexes.

Well, that was quick. Kind of wanted a lace but at that price…I'm good.

I know costs are going up, but I'm going to have a hard time paying more than $25 on the reg.

Had an Ibex in the cart but didn't get through the checkout fast enough. My wallet is happy I guess.

I think this sale MIGHT have been to test the waters. if they don't sell out somewhat quickly or at all....it's not worth getting back into the market. If they sell out quickly (which they did)....hmmmmm, there's a market for these.

So, I think we will be seeing more in the months to come.

But I agree $40 a disc is too much for me....I can get two discs for that price. But, these were advertised as Limited, special dyes.

I hope that they don't decide to do any non-standard discs at that $40 price point.

That would be crazy! (and not in a good way)

From Vibram Disc Golf site:
"We are excited to announce that for a very limited time only, we are relaunching a quartet of our most popular high-quality rubber disc golf discs."

Definitely looks like a test of the waters. Or possibly even new old stock.

wtf

you couldnt give away vibram discs back in the day

They have a 'fan club'. I know some players who swore by them and still have Vibram discs. One person just recently quit throwing his Vibram putter.

One of the "pros" I heard about them is that they 'stick' when they land. There's little to no roll away. Elevation Discs Interceptor and Koi are similar to the Vibram as it is mainly rubber.

Imagine rolling your putter up in a ball (or taco style) and tossing it into the basket.

Back when Vibram originally existed, their discs were too unusual....I suspect players wanted the Frisbee-type of disc (plastic) and that is what everyone else produced. So, not enough people bought Vibrams and they dropped out of the market. But now, with discs being made of hemp, rubber, 3d printed, recycled material (in the process...not sure if any are being approved/sold yet), Vibram has a real good chance of making a strong comeback.
