The Inevitable 2022 Pros Switching Sponsors Thread

Doesn't Kevin Jones have "multiple elite-series titles."?

Does Kona Panis have "multiple elite-series titles."?

I want to say No and No. Seems like Kona would be tough to pull from Innova anyway for a few reasons, but maybe I'm wrong.

I think it could be Kevin, don't think it will be Kona. Her dad works for Innova and is tight with Dave. Unless someone made her a stupid high offer that Dave wouldn't clear to match.

I am a show me guy. Neither has proven much and will need to come over and steal the stage. I hope COVID allows it. King-Pierce-Gannon was a pretty potent triple threat last season. It would be fun to find out.

Eveliina and Henna only played 3 tournament in the US in 2020

Eveliina was: 2nd, 4th and won in Waco
Henna was: 3rd, 3rd and 2nd.

And they where 2nd and 4th in the last Worlds they played

So no place outside top 4 for all the tournaments they played in the US that year. . i think they have proven that they are top 3 in the world

Obviously quite a few players have multiple elite series victories but it's a small list of players that are going to qualify for a contract described as "one of the biggest in disc golf history"

That's gotta be Ricky and Cat right?

Not really.

Paige, Catrina, Hailey, Missy, Kona (?- not sure if the All Star thing actually would count), Hokom- that might be it for the active American women. My guess would be Hailey.

Kona would be an interesting choice....Is she top talent/top money worthy? Yes she has strong ties with Innova, but I dont think her dad would mind her leaving for top money

As far as i can see Kona won Waco this year and that´s her only big win, so not "multiple elite-series titles"

It would be fun if it´s one of Henna or Eveliina. . .Lat64 took Kristin so why not take Eveliina to DD?

by the way. . why not just call them "Trilogy sponsored"? in MattyO's latest video he threw more lat64 and DD than he did Westside.

It would make sense to some fans, but Trilogy is a fan based name for the team Trilogy street team, right? Conrad is MVP sponsored, but he can throw Axiom and streamline also.

I think by using the company name it gives more exposure to the individual companies.

Yeah. The Trilogy thing confused me when I was new. People would tell me to look at Trilogy discs, but Infinite didn't have a tab for them.

That might be my favorite thing about all the sponsorship changes…seeing the first couple of videos after a new move and everybody fumbling with plastic and mold names. Matty O called it the Truth 2.0 a couple times instead of Emac Truth. I think there were a couple others in there also. My favorite was S Word, although that was an intentional Celebrity Jeopardy headnod.

"It begins with a bloody 'S'!"

Probably some % molds in bag from the sponsoring company requirement.
So L64 sponsored might require 2/3 L64 discs, DD sponsored 2/3 DD, and Westside may require equal amounts of DD & L64 and at least 1/3 Westside.

I don't think that practice round with EMac is necessarily what Matt Orum will bag. Still trying out the available range with the only guaranteed disc in bag being the Maiden putter. McCabe probably handed him the 2021 TS v2.0 FusionX EMac Truth and the Lucid EMac Judge to try out when he got to Emporia.

I mean if you were EMac, wouldn't you want EVERY Trilogy Pro throwing EMac Truths? Money, money, money...

Lat 64 makes all the Trilogy discs, that i know. .But Lat64 don´t own DD or Westside in any way? DD own Westside?

To me lat64 is Swedish, DD American and Westside have a Finnish wibe. .
So if it was me a would putt international players under Lat 64. . like they have done with Kristin
But i don´t really get why Westside have the big US pros like Orum and Nikko. . Put them under DD and take a few big Finnish names under the Westside flag

Cam Colglazier announcing on FB he's got an announcement…reads as if he's leaving Prodigy.

For the newer kiddies he fell into that boat with Eagle, Kyle Klein, etc that was really good at a young age. Way back in the day I traded a lot of plastic on Disceroo with a dude in the Mobile, AL area who knew Matty O and family fairly well and kept telling me Cam was gonna be the real deal. I think for a while Matty O took him under his wing, but he got married and has a couple kids and works full time and only plays fairly close to home.

Looks as if he's in a position where he can start traveling a bit again. I wanna think he was initially with Prodigy, went to Latitude for a bit, and then went back to Prodigy after a season of two.

So I meant to post something similar to this a while back but forgot to do it.

I thought if it along the lines as Latitude and DD being the two pillar brands, one focusing on Europe and the other the US. Westside is kinda like the rebel, or "personality" of the trilogy marketing. Nikko and Matty O both have some character to them.

L64 co-owns Westside along with DD
