2023 Music City Open Presented by Lone Star Disc

Apparently the front 9 plays SLOW.

UDisc shows the 1st card of MPO as being on the same hole as the lead card FPO.

That was after 11--both those cards had completed #11 per UDisc

Why not put a drop zone on 16. If your disc doesn't land in bounds on the other side of the water go to the drop zone.

You may be thinking of 17 and I agree if the putt from a DZ was makeable. No FPO made the DZ putt save on 16. However, I would do something slightly different design-wise on both 16 & 17.

Disc Golf Network introduces the in-round interview with Nate Perkins interviewing Matt Orum during the initial walk on hole 1.
It lasted maybe 2 minutes. The first question was "what did you throw?"...then they talked about Alabama and Cowboys football of course.
Kind of cool!

I think I watched some of the MCO last year??? Is this the same course or a completely different location?

I don't remember anything like this, but maybe I didn't watch it last year, just saw the scores?

Same track with a few changes including hole number shift, (#3 last year #1 this year).

thanks. Doesn't look like high winds, but they seem to be whipping around. Gets ugly on the elevated baskets.

Kristin starts slow but of course she comes back strong to lead after rd 1 :)

Erika Stinchcomb carded a quadruple bogey on each of the first 4 holes, 16 over after four. I'm sorry that wasn't on camera. Horrible, but I would have liked to watch that unfold. What a tragicomedy.

She didn't start until hole 5, so was +16 before she threw a disc.

Dang, I hope everything was OK.

At that point I would be tempted to just bail out and not play. 16 strokes is almost impossible to make up. Unless she is under contractual obligation to play, I wonder what is in it for her to finish off the tournament?

Maybe she likes to play more than she likes to watch/go to the zoo/whatever. Realistically she wasn't going to win the event whether she lost those strokes or not.

Well, Nashville does have a really good zoo from what I understand, lol. Just saying...

Assuming she played like she did the rest of the round, she would have have played those holes ~ 3 over and been ~9 over for the round. Tied with Madison and others. I am thinking that finishing the round in the same conditions as everyone else put her in a better position to be able to do her commentary with Madison on JomezPro.

No round rating pressure if she continues since it will drop from her next player rating calc.
