DFW disc golf

Cedar hill, lester lorch, 36 holes. Crossroads of life is close by. Long drive for you but worth it.

Glad you liked town lake

Just made a wishlist with about 20 courses that I would like to play in the next three months. Probably wont be able to make all of them but damned if I'm not gonna try! Is there a good shop in DFW? (I'm sure there are a few, but are there any that are extra cool/nice people?)

Hey guys, first post! I am actually from Illinois but I'm living in Paris for the spring doing a co-op with Kimberly Clark and just wanted to find out some more info on the some of the best TX courses. I have read some of this thread already, and yesterday I made a trip to Harry Myers and Towne Lake. Both of which were amazing. I really loved the front 9 of Harry Myers but wasn't a huge fan of a lot of the back nine holes (mainly because I like woods type courses) which is also why I loved Towne Lake! I also definitely plan on going to Selah Ranch at least once. I was wondering what you feel are some others that are worth the two hour trip for me in the DFW area. I am a big fan of woodsy, technical courses but I'm not too picky when it comes down to it. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, if you like the woods then you gotta play Lorch Park in Cedar Hill. Coyote is more technical, only two non-wooded holes, higher rated here, but also has the best chances for low scores. The front course (Beaver) has a woods, but not as many, but add in three water holes and it rocks. The best 36 pair in the Metroplex. Then if you like challenging woods plus a few two-drive holes (par4/5) see Crossroads, 6 miles up the Hwy.

You MUST make these courses. You like woods. You like great courses. Here they are. No doubt.

All said courses above and Harris is right too. Denision is awesome and is one of the best courses in the area! It just doesnt have anything close to it to help it out, but well worth the trip. And if you cant find anyone to play it with you, let me know and lll make the trip.

Longest wooded holes around are at Lindsey Park Gold Course (AKA Dogwood) in Tyler, TX. Crossroads is challenging, but not as challenging as Dogwood. I got an 80 first time playing Crossroads. Dogwood I got 103. Lindsey Park also has 2 other courses there.

Don't miss out on Selah Ranch. I scored in the low 70s from the short tees, so they are not as hard from the shorts as Crossroads and Dogwood are. But those Selah courses really set the bar a lot higher. And you can always play the longs and see what you think. Some of the best players I know played longs and said it was a mistake, and they will play shorts from now on.

Lake nacogdoches DGC, definitely worth a weekend roadtrip-one of the best hidden gems in TX. I know its not really close to DFW but it is one of the best courses Ive ever played. We have two other courses so it definitley warrants a trip if youve got the time.

I am going to go check out the Trophy Club DG Park. Heard 9 new holes were added. Never played the old 9 hole course either.

Here's my wishlist of potential courses that I would like to play before I leave TX. I made this based on proximity to me (had to be within 2.5 hour drive) and rating on here. If anyone sees any that I should leave off for some reason, or some that I should add please feel free to help me out here. This weekend I'm thinking about hitting up Lewisville and Bill Allen plus a trip to the Carollton PIAS.

Alex Clark Memorial DGC
B. B. Owen Park
Bear Creek
Bill Allen Memorial Park
Cherry Creek Park
Crossroads of Life DGC
Fritz Park
Lake Lewisville Park
Lester Lorch Park - Beaver DGC
Lester Lorch Park - Coyote DGC
Lindsey Park - Blue Course
Lindsey Park - Gold Course
Munson Park
Paschall Park
Selah Ranch - Creekside
Selah Ranch - Lakeside
The Roc DGC
Turner Park
Veteran's Park
Z-Boaz Park

If you play Alex Clark play town lake the same day. Playing solo I can do the whole Alex Clark course in 45 minutes to an hour (depending on who I can okay through etc.) so it might Mott be worth the drive by itself. It's a fun little course though

Alex Clark Memorial DGC - Fun and fast, short course, lots of ace runs, Longs are marked by bricks in the ground and should be easy for an experienced player to figure out. Not good after heavy rain.
B. B. Owen Park - OK typical "park" course, a little shady with some unsavories around as it is in Dallas. I think it can get busy.
Bear Creek - Fun course, you have to go back through the parking lot to get to the last set of holes.
Bill Allen Memorial Park - I like it. Not too busy.
Cherry Creek Park - Fun course, can be played after a heavy rain.
Crossroads of Life DGC
Fritz Park - Great 9 holer worth the stop if you are close by (bear creek/turner)
Lake Lewisville Park - Very fun, lots of local, mini Sat at 2, pays in plastic, dry after rain.
Lester Lorch Park - Beaver DGC
Lester Lorch Park - Coyote DGC - Worth the trip, I'd send you here over anywhere else if you were only in town for a day.
Lindsey Park - Blue Course - Navigation can be difficult in Tyler so try and get a map for all the courses you plan on playing.
Lindsey Park - Gold Course - The most difficult course I've played while still being fair. Munson Park - Long and hilly. Fun but nothing else in the area
Paschall Park - I think this course sucks for the most part. A few good holes at the start then it just gets repetitive.
Selah Ranch - Creekside
Selah Ranch - Lakeside - Once you play these you may not be driving into DFW to play, you might just keep going back.
The Roc DGC - Fun if you are in the area but I'd spend the day at Lindsey over going to the Roc.
Turner Park - Great course, elevation and long holes, some cool shots.
Veteran's Park - Can get very busy and can be difficult to navigate
Z-Boaz Park - Very busy with large rude groups of thieves and drunks, lock your car and keep an eye on your shots. Great course though.

Bicentennial in crowley, weatherford has new teepads and pin positions, and saddle hills is now a full 18-all on the west-ish side if you play zboaz

Bear Creek will have a mini each Saturday morning leading up to a C tier on March 17th. There are lots of other minis run by locals to check out during the week and on weekends. From my experience, us D/FWer's are pretty chill on the course (on the road is a different story, especially in Dallas :wall:), but I might be bias.

Also - my wife is from Paris, so I head up there a few times a year. First off, I'm sorry your temporary working arrangement is in Paris. :p

Secondly, that's quite a drive for some of these courses. I haven't been out to Tyler yet, but I would imagine Towne Lake in McKinney is closest to you, and that's still going to be about an hour.

Hell yeah. I appreciate this a lot man! I am still debating on heading to Selah this weekend, or waiting for a tad warmer weather. Or maybe I will do Lewisville and Bill Allen on Sat, then Selah on Sunday when it's supposed to be glorious outside...hmmm decisions, decisions!

zboaz and saddle hills makes a good pair
cedar hill is required and pair them with crossroads
cherry creek has an incredible back 9 and is worth playing
turner park is great, maybe pair with fritz and/or bear creek
