Nuke should not slip as easily, but it will still flip if your form is bad or you throw it that way or you just beat the Nuke in.

I like my Nukes though if I were to throw Innova again I would definately keep a Katana in the bag, likely as a main driver.

pro katana and i throw it flat and it filips within 75 feet
If you are flipping them over in 75 feet it is most likely your form not the disc.
The Katana is flippable but it should go longer than 75 feet before it does.
You may have off axis torque issues unless it was a strong headwind.

the nuke seems to be more overstable for me. i have thrown esp nukes and pro katanas. i love the glide i get out of a pro katana, but i need room to work it since it is so flippy.

Pro Katana bombs, but it is definitely understable. Havent thrown the champs yet, but my star is only slightly more stable.

Both ESP Nukes Ive owned were WAY more stable than any katana ive thrown.

Whats your normal max d drive? My first run 167 beat to hell pro is my go to distance driver. I throw right around 300', used to flip mine too, just gotta find the right hyzer angle man, mine will flip if I throw it flat.

How far are you throwing some of your other discs? Like your mids and fairways or other distance drivers? And what molds are they?

the funny thing about faster discs is that they require more base distance of a player to get them to perform correctly. A Destroyer needs about 400' of power behind it before it flies right, a Wraith needs about 360, and a Boss needs about 430ish I believe. So a Katana while more understable still requires lets say 380' worth of power to fly right. Otherwise they will fly more overstable. Now, an understable disc can flip no matter what (comets and RoadRunners can flip out of the box) but they are more likely to do so in diff plastics. I had a Pro Katana and it was fine for about 8 holes and then started going nutso on me. Pro plastic usually equals flippy. Star is naturally more overstalbe plastic and makes a disc more overstable than it is rated. In the case of a Star Katana very overstable ( I had a star as well that almost flew like a boss...).

So Star/Champ Kat is more overstable than a Z or ESP Nuke. A Pro Kat is probably more understable than any Nuke.

+1. Tried two ESP Nukes and couldn't turn them at all. My Pro Katana turns and fades back invariably granting me (personally) a better result. I've read the 'Sidewinder on steroids' comparison for the Katana, and while I feel the Katana requires more power to throw, it can resemble a faster sidewinder bomb. The Nuke in my hands wasn't anything close to that. I could throw a Star Boss straighter.

Further, a friend who throws exclusively sidearm likes those same Nukes to take his extra torque.
