    Noobie Dye Question Thread

threw the discs in the freezer for an hour or two, acetone on a cottonball took the adhesive off easily without really removing any dye, as far as I could tell.

The Dye A Day Thread! (Part II)

nothing hugely complicated, but finally dyed our 'travelling trophy discs' for our (can't-officially-call-it-a-)league at work last night: pretty happy with how they turned out, considering these are dyes #2-4 for me...

    Noobie Dye Question Thread

Just dyed three trilogy 'recycled' plastic discs last night with Oracal 651 as a mask, and have LOTS of adhesive left over on the discs after removal. I know plenty of solvents (Acetone etc, even rubbing alcohol) will take the stuff off, and heard positive results with Goo Gone or Goof-Off. My...

Mando Arrows - sources and mounting

putting the finishing touches on a little private course that I get to play a lot, and we're looking for something a little nicer than the spray-painted-arrows-on-trees that we've got right now. What have you seen/used for mando arrows? The course that I've played since I've been thinking...

Rules for Beginners and "Developing" Rec players

I'm "co-leader" of a group (can't call it a league  ) of new/casual/developing players, and have developed a reputation as "the rules guy", mostly by virtue of having looked at the PDGA rules once or twice. Much of our play is super casual, on our little private 9-hole course, so...

Review by bopApocalypse in course Beacon Hills Park

3.00 star(s) * Lots of elevation change across the course - downhill, uphill, sidehill, and even the occasional flat hole. * Great variety of landscape, course plays across manicured parkland, dirt and wild grassland, in and out of scrub oak forest area. * Many different options for most holes - very few...

    The Official First Dyes Thread

Lat64 Diamond Light (misprint, if the stamp isn't obvious) Opto plastic. Pretty happy with the way it came out. Two tiny bleeds, would've liked to get the purple a little darker (did about 45 minutes with it). Mostly, just need to cut my vinyl better. Not sure how to do that, aside from...

    Yet another RHBH critique

Just breaking this down to make sure I'm understanding- reviewing my video, I'm bending over (like I'm going to pick something up off the ground), particularly during my reach back - this? mostly on the release/follow-through? I feel like (and video seems to show it) I'm getting my shoulders...

    Yet another RHBH critique

I've been trying this "tempo" drill and it seems like it's working OK for me. I figured I'd take some video and see what I can see. My best feeling throw of the evening, slowed down for the actual throw portion: http://youtu.be/wlZ_xeV3zqo In general, I'm getting putters (and everything else)...

Review by bopApocalypse in course Mathis Park

2.50 star(s) Decent Short Course Short holes may be good for new players, families, or anybody who just doesn't throw that far. Nice, simple signage calls out tees, and directions to next tee for a few holes. Good use of what was available to provide a wide variety of shots. A few holes are a...

How much does the mold matter for putting?

I've finally got a basket at home to practice with, and want to get more putters so I can throw more putts without having to pick 'em up. Here's the problem: I picked up a RFF Wizard not long ago, and have been pretty happy with it. Seriously considering ordering up 5 or 10 of 'em (in a...

[Recommend] Discs for learning RHBH snap

Agree 99%. I've been doing some right pec drill & "pounding the hammer" work, just not enough to really nail anything down, other than I can feel when I do things right, I can feel when I don't, but I've not been able to consciously affect the result. That 1% - I know (now) that some of my...

[Recommend] Discs for learning RHBH snap

must be nice. outside of the occasional throw where I manage to snap the disc, I'm throwing everything about 150. :(

[Recommend] Discs for learning RHBH snap

I've dropped the BH drive from my normal games since I've realized that my technique is severely lacking and can get much better distance from a FH drive. BUT - I'm still working on my BH throw. Is there any particular disc I should be using to practice? Any discs I should avoid?
