    Scorecard playoff?

That's a little over-dramatic. It's also incorrect as it is clearly the same sport. They don't break out into a soccer match to tie-break a college football game.

    Scorecard playoff?

What is not skillful, fair, consistent and timely about a scorecard playoff. My preference is a sudden death playoff beginning at hole 1. Unless the players tie all holes, the tournament is over at the end of the last scheduled round. Nothing is more timely. It tests skill. The only fairness and...

    Scorecard playoff?

I don't see it in the rules, of course, but I wonder what, if any, objection there would be to a scorecard playoff in a situation where there is limited daylight for a playoff.

    Classic Review lines

Weird that you would think that I was somehow "pissed off" simply for labeling your unhelpful review as unhelpful. It seems pretty telling that you would make that up. Anyway, when I travel, I search the map based on course rating, typically starting with a 3.5. What I would find in that area is...

Slick tee pads, towels, RipItGrip and some thoughts

My local course used a non-slip top coating. As soon as the grit wore out of it (in less than 6 months) it was worse than what it replaced. The problem with the concrete tees at that course is that the smooth gravel aggregate had become exposed and was very slippery when even slightly damp. I...

    Another tee pad thread.

Another Update. I'm only really paying attention to the complaints. The MPO player above mentioned that they are too grippy. The only UDisc reviewer to have mentioned them thinks that they are too slippery. So, after about a 1-1/2 months, those are the only negative comments that I have...

    Roller tournament format.

Why do you think that I will get headaches and complaints for requiring fewer rollers that would not occur if I required more rollers? BTW, one of my rationales for not requiring all rollers is that some holes just don't set up for rollers at all. And some of those holes cross relatively wide...

    Another tee pad thread.

Update on new pads: The feedback that I have gotten on these pads has been almost universally positive, almost. One MPO player claims that they are too grippy and don't allow him to rotate his plant foot. I don't want to dismiss this negative feedback, but I am considerably heavier than him and...

    Roller tournament format.

Maybe on one of the holes, but I could play the tournament from the red tees to alleviate that possibility.

    Roller tournament format.

This was my first inclination - to require one roller on every hole. My scoring solution is basically the same as yours - I just added in the "uncounted" throws up front to end up with a final score that could be compared to an ordinary round. Unfortunately, not every hole on this course is...

    Roller tournament format.

My intention with the it-is-a-roller-if-it-rolls rule was to take away as much subjectivity and potential conflict as possible. I too have unsuccessfully attempted to throw a roller before. Why wasn't it a roller? Because it didn't roll. An "accidental roller" is a roller. Why? Because it rolls...
