    Anyone near Portland, OR?

Thanks guys, I played 54 holes at Horning's. Started with Highlands, then hit Meadow Ridge, and finished with the Canyon. What a great course. I even had the pleasure of meeting Bob Horning as I was looking for Meadow Ridge. Nice guy. They need more signage there to find the beginnings of...

Review by Scott64a in course Horning's Hideout - Canyon Course

4.50 star(s) Sweet!!! This course is fantastic. Lots of grassy fairways to bomb down, and many lefts and rights to work out your shot repertoire. The setting is gorgeous as well. Lots of tall conifers and some rather stunning landscape to play in and on. Bob's disc catchers are groovy... they make a gong...

4.00 star(s) Fun and Scenic! Very well laid out, lots of challenging holes. Being a pro course, they had to have a par 5 on it. Hole 16 delivers. 930 ft! This course has a lot of really scenic views and is a real blast to play. This course is really hard to find when walking in from the parking area. I was...

4.00 star(s) Good Warm Up Nice short course to warm up on, or really good for kids and beginners. It's well laid out and easy to navigate. It would be nice to have a marker at each basket pointing the way to the next tee. Some of us forget what the hole map said hahaha

    Anyone near Portland, OR?

I'll be out there and playing some disc this Friday. Was thinking about hitting some courses out W or SW of the city, since I have to drop my wife off in Beaverton Friday AM. I may just say screw it and drive back to town to play at Piers Park and then head SE to McIver and Timber parks. I...

    Hello

Nothing to it but to do it.

    Hello

I used to play an entire round of golf with just my 5 iron and a putter to the same effect. It kept me focused on the fundamentals of the game. Right now I need to focus on the mechanics and fundamentals. Playing a round with just the buzzz will help do that.

    Hello

...so I'll hang on to the Gateway $$$. Maybe one day I'll know how to use it!

    Hello

OK, I learned a few things today. One, the Gateway SSS putter is more for a person with experience and one who knows how to finesse it as it should be finessed. :) Two, I learned the X-step. I'll work on that with snapping a towel while at home, and practice driving with that method. It's all...

    Hello

Thanks guys. I went out with my 10 yr old daughter yesterday and played a round. She only wanted to use the Sidewinder, because it is BLUE. I was made to drive with the Valkyrie and use the Buzzz and SSS putter. The Buzzz is indeed a versatile and handy disc. I made a 50 ft arcing shot for par...

    Hello

One is an Innova Valkyrie, the other is a Sidewinder.

    Hello

I think the putter I have might be too floppy for longer putts, it's a SSS Gateway ($$$). Maybe I'll practice putts from various ranges and see how it throws, and see how it goes. from what I'm reading, a really floppy putter isn't recommended for beginners. I have no frame of reference...

    Hello

Awesome, thanks guys! I've got two Innova drivers, a 175 and a 169; a mid range Discraft Buzzz.esp that's .5 to the left, (I don't know the weight,) and a Super Stupid Soft Putter that weighs 174. Sounds like I'm in the weight range. There's nothing to do but practice throwing these around and...

    Hello

Hey all, Just played for the first time yesterday and loved it! A friend gave me some old hand me down discs and I'm already looking for a new set. I suppose my small amount of golf experience tells me that having clubs that match your body and style of playing really improves things and keeps...
