Sharing ideas for low budget signs

Thanks for bringing that up. It would definitely suck if someone put signs up and then the park department pulls them out shortly after because nobody asked for permission. I never thought of asking the park department directly to see if they would be interested in adding the signs themselves...

Sharing ideas for low budget signs

Definitely better than being left in suspense on where to find the tee pad. I recently played at a course with out signs or marked tee pads (boards included), and at that point, just had to guess the basket and the pad. Hope they eventually mark the pads, still useful when you can't get anything...

Sharing ideas for low budget signs

Wood carving idea is awesome. That would be fun to see pics. If I run into any courses with wood carved signs, I will definitely post pics. What you said the plastic/glass coverings also make sense. I have also seen some glass covered kiosks get damaged, and in some cases, that means a...

Sharing ideas for low budget signs

Right now at my new job, I have to get rid of some wood crates at the warehouse (new tenants are expected to come in and share the space). Got a crowbar, and started braking some crates apart and hoping to use them for signs. The three courses my club uses don't currently have signage, so I...

Sharing ideas for low budget signs

Created the thread for sharing ideas for creating low budget signs. Thought it would be a good place for people to share advice and stories for creating new signs when you and/or your club currently do not have the funds for more elaborate signage.

4DiscGolf.com presents the Fort Steilacoom Open

Too bad about them dropping out of the tourney. I hope they get better for worlds. Yeah, I saw McCray play at a local C-Tier a few weeks ago, he threw pretty well then. I'm sure a lot of people would love to caddy for him if he needs one (unfortunately I couldn't get work off, so if he does...

What is the PDGA ruling when you run out of discs?

Some more details that might help: This was the rec division for a C-Tier. However, the TD made the requirements apply to all divisions. The particular hole was one of the six "added holes" for the tourney at a middle school across the street from the 12 hole course (as far as I know, PDGA is...

    Now that's a pro call-out

Out of curiosity, are most of the marshalls paid or volunteers? Have not been to an A-Tier or NT yet.

Should I give an over rated course a 1 out of 5?

I guess this hole thread is a bang head here moment for me. :wall: Oh well, lesson learned, just keep it honest. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time with this thread.

Should I give an over rated course a 1 out of 5?

Thanks for the correction on spelling signage. And yes, you are right. After having time to think about it and getting a better idea of how the rating system works, I would have felt like **** giving it a 1. It also helped that for each half point while posting a DGCR review, the site gave you...

    Now that's a pro call-out

I agree. The lower profile players in sports like ball golf only get attention while they are ahead of big name players. Once they choke, the media treats them like they were never at the event.

What is the PDGA ruling when you run out of discs?

If you run out of discs on a hole, what is the PDGA's ruling? I was at a tournament where some guy on a different card did not get all his discs past the minimum distance requirement on a hole, but the other guys on his card either A: misunderstood the PDGA rulebook, or B: PDGA didn't rule on...

    Now that's a pro call-out

I will have to add that the scene in 21 jump street does not help much either. :\ Sometimes, it makes me feel tempted to walk up to the neighborhood private ball golf course (has a reputation for people yelling at other people walking by some of the houses in the area) and throw the flags out...

Should I give an over rated course a 1 out of 5?

Reviewed the courses Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I just reviewed the courses, and your advice definitely helped. In the reviews for both courses, most of my likes and dislikes were already addressed, and I did not have as much to add as I thought. With the course I disliked, majority of...
