New Course in Development in Rochester,MN?

Heard that Rochester,MN may be getting a new course in Essex Park. Does anyone have any details?

Review by Treewacker9 in course Driesner Park

1.50 star(s) Nuthin' Fancy Concrete tees; reasonably good baskets. Not maintained at all other than mowing. A short course with no info for the holes other than some baskets being numbered. Runs through middle of park traffic; very compact. Maybe a good practice course as long as you don't hit anybody...

    New Disc Golf Videos

Re: FYI from the PDGA 803.03 Marking the Lie: A. After each throw, the thrown disc must be left where it came to rest until the lie is established by the placing of a marker. This can be done by placing a mini marker disc on the playing surface between the hole and the disc, directly in line...

Review by Treewacker9 in course Lion's Park DGC - Old Layout

2.50 star(s) Not as easy as it looks... Good signs denoting length & par. Some longer holes along with some basic "park" holes. New baskets. Grass/dirt tees. No walkway across the creek on #8. At first glance it appears to be an easy course. However I was pleasantly surprised to find several holes over 250...

Beginner looking for feedback on some disc choices (and just general advice)

I remember when I started out. The discs I bought were far too heavy for me. I was throwing big hyzers with little distance. I would recommend discs in the 150-160 gm range until you really get your throwing form down. Then you can use heavier discs which are better in the wind with more...

    X-outs and factory seconds?

These are discs with factory blemishes similar to x-out balls in golf. There should be no difference in their flight characteristics.

Pay to Play is NOT a con

I would welcome a pay for play facility in my locale. However, it would have to be a good course with interesting holes, at least 18. They would need to be regularly maintained, including mowing, course improvements, tree trimming, path grooming,etc... Also it would be good if they had a...

Anyone highly offended by the term frolf?

It doesn't offend me but it does tell me that whomever is saying it has a limited knowledge of disc golf or that they're trying to be 'hip'. I don't like using the term "frisbee" but most people don't know what you're doing unless you tell them it's frisbee golf. Frisbees to me are toys used to...

Disc golf shoes: Your choice and why

I just bought a pair of low Salomon Exit Aero Trail runners which I really love. Lightweight, comfortable, and really grip. No more slipping on dewy grass for me. They're good for playing wood holes too.

    High Quality Courses

Old English is a golf course, not disc golf & I don't see it in the PDGA directory.

Review by Treewacker9 in course Todd Park

3.50 star(s) Disc Go Here, Disc Go There... Multiple tees & Nice concrete tee markers with map, par, & yardage on each hole. Nice mix of challenging wood & open holes, some with very pronounced doglegs. Has 27 holes. Hard to navigate. Was told that there were scorecards at the 1st tee but there weren't. Some...

Review by Treewacker9 in course St. Mary's College DGC - Old Layout

3.50 star(s) Tiger's Woods? Very challenging wood holes with doglegs & elevation changes. The stream comes into play on some holes. Signs with par ,map, & yardage are a nice touch. Scorecards with map are available at the path on the first tee. Navigation is tricky without the scorecard which has a map on...
