Beautiful and Beastly
I really enjoyed the shotmaking challenges and strategy that this course demanded. It combines dramatic elevation changes and mature forest into a championship-caliber course that is rather unique. You have to hit gaps and shape lines to progress forward on these long holes...

New Best Course in the State?
Incredible! For comparison this course is basically 70% Deer Lakes and 30% Iron Hill -- and might even be the best course in the Mid-Atlantic region when compared against those courses and others like Moraine and Nockamixon.
It's full of amazing, fun, and...
Great work in Pittsburgh! After living in Pittsburgh for six years, my job took my elsewhere one week before worlds, so your videos have been very therapeutic. I just became a Patreon subscriber of yours: https://www.patreon.com/CCDG?ty=c
Anyway, what did you think of Pittsburgh's Worlds...
For anyone who was there, what was the general sentiment on the teepads? From what I understand, the SRU teepads were squares (1 sq ft?) that were somehow pieced together. I only played on them once in nice weather, and they seemed surprisingly grippy.
One of Moraine's best features is that there should be a lot of diversity in shot selection on many holes. With the relatively small trees, you can often go under, through, around, or over. At Deer Lakes, you get some diversity in the Hole 1 tee shot...and then everyone pretty much throws the...
Which hole is listed at 383ft and a Par 4? Both Holes 2 and 4 play around 450ft from the gold tees, but I think they're legitimate gold Par 4s based on narrow fairways and playing uphill.
Moraine golds have consistently played very close to 1000-rated over the years, and the course has been...
I think everyone in Pittsburgh agrees that Moraine and Deer Lakes are much closer to "ideal" disc golf courses than Slippery Rock. SRU is the result of many years of comprise and negotiation and environmental reviews between designer J. Gary Dropcho and the university. It was supposed to be...
Paul's 3 today is definitely impressive but not out-of-this-world impressive for the MPO leaders. I honestly expected to see a few more 3s on that hole. If you have the distance, it just takes a good shot off the tee and a little luck to get good footing -- the second shot doesn't require too...
Moraine and Deer Lakes are both Par 66 and follow a similar design concept. From the Worlds A pool, par at Moraine is 990-rated and par at Deer Lakes is 975-rated -- so Moraine is about two strokes harder than Deer Lakes. While Deer Lakes is actually longer than Moraine, the difference is...
Slippery Rock photos are finally updated. The course looks great! It should show up really well on video and have plenty of interesting golf shots. http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=4126
I missed out on getting pictures of Holes 15 and 16 and am no longer in Pittsburgh. If anyone...
